got here today!! an '87 SR5 turbo with an Automatic. VERY solid frame (hard to find here in the midwest), and a slight knock (probably a #4 rod bearing...). but only 24,000 miles on a brand new head and turbo. $1600. it'll be a bit of a project, but it's already got add-a-leafs, and front torsion bars cranked up, so I think some fender trimming, a 2-tone paint job, and some 33s should do nicely for next year. maybe a rear locker aswell.... then, SAS and 35s.
Nice looking ride Going to be weird not seeing you tooling around in a lifted Subaru wagon and I don't think you will get the looks in this.
Very, very nice. I had an '89 SR5 with the V6 and an auto. I miss that truck, it was a riot. Never did take the top off, even though that's one of the things that makes those great. Mine was even the same white. I saw one in Superior for sale when we were up the for the Subaru weekend, I was giving serious thought to it. Have fun!
my buddy back in Australia had one of those... I have soem photos somewhere I will find it scan it in and post it... let me just say.. it was LIFTED!!
I just saw my old offroad rig driving around town. Made me really sad to see the state its in now. Kid pulled out the old suspension and returned it to stock so he can drive it on the highway, and left the big tires on it despite how low it sits. '95 jeep ZJ w/ a 4.5'' rubicon express, on bfg a/ts, lockers, etc. I always did envy the yota's out on the trails though. I've seen a tacoma do the impossible on several occasions. amped to see what this turns into!
     and that is all yep, there was a turbo version. it was only available in '87 because in '88 they introduced the V6...
