Is it just me, or does that car look like it has the aerodynamic efficiency of a bulldozer?

Whoa, 18 inch 2-piece front Brembos. That's sick.

Keyless starting as well. Kinda neat.

Don't like it. Saw a pic of the new STi and Evo in the new Road and Track...like the STi a lot better. Just one mans opinion though. Plus, STi gets lighter.

+1 to that. The X may not be the prettiest thing, but it sure as hell looks a lot more aggressive then the new suby styling.

meh, I'll wait to see all the competition first before I pick a horse. The evo x RS does look like a good deal though, but who knows whats going to happen with the us spec ones. remember traditionally japan and europe have had evo specs not the same as the usa ones.

The only thing I have to say to this is that neither car is very attractive. Both cars seem pretty capable.

only major differences I see here are:

subaru - more bare bones traditional sports car
mitsu - more bells and whistle technology

other than that, they're both japanese econoboxes with gobs of power and looks about as sexy as a pugs anus.

I like the look of both. STi a little better as long as those ugly arse tail lights can be changed out...blech. The evo is heavy and slower, but apparently, the cornering of the evo is ridiculously precise.

I like the new style. its not the greatest but it is very aggressive which is what a car of this type (AWD turbo) should look like.

agreed, they went the opposite way of Subaru's new look, and I think that will play out quite nicely for Mitsubishi.

i choose the new GT-R over both, however, i we were talking about down at Firestone, i am pretty unsure about the whole new approach to turbos Nissan is taking with the GT-R, either way i want to drive it NOW

But the new GT-R is going to cost almost twice as much. Obviously it better be "better."

Also keep in mind, once you start looking at $30k+ cars, there are much better options out there at that point (at least in terms of styling).

And once again, it's not about what these cars look like. It's about their performance.

Yeah, I'm sorry, there's nothing pretty about the current or future versions of either of these vehicles. They are unique to say the least...but pretty...no. If you had talked to me 4 years ago, I would have never guessed that I'd be driving an STi. But after driving it, I can't see myself driving much else in this price range.

And how did the GT-R get into this conversation. Sure, great car...I'd love to drive one as well, but I don't think it was built with the STi or Evo in mind as competition. And if it was, they missed the boat on pricing :)

for the price of the GT-R, you're still better of with a C6 Z06 performance wise.

I agree. Mitsubishi designers made a great looking vehicle. The subaru designers must not have taken the blind folds off while at the drafting table.

The engine looks like it's based off the 4G63 but aluminum this time, I'm just guessing
And with a little fix here and there

I'm still not too fond of the new body style.

Great looking seems to be pretty generous. Maybe not a travesty, but it's definately not great looking...

subaru has three things to sell; the Tribecca, LGT and used older ones, the new Impreza is nasty.

Go sit in a new impreza. I like the 08s better than the 06-07. There is a gunmetal hatch WRX on the lot at MTKA that is absolutely stunning.

And Subaru isn't concerned about enthusiast cars, they sell more outbacks and legacys than anything else. Mitsu doesn't have a heavy seller, and the enthusiast sport sedan isn't going to save them.

The 4b11 comes sleeved from the factory i believe. I think the engine will do just fine. Arent Ecotec's aluminum as well?

Nobody knows if this is a shotty engine or not yet though. Everyone ripped on the 4g eclipse as well but they are at the 400whp mark or close to on stock internals last i checked. I would give it a minute before rushing to judgement on this one.

Performance is first priority for me, and Mitsu has a more solid package in that department, as for appearance, I dont care for either. I am sure someone will bring these cars to one of our events and I'll be happy to provide a Cheech Review if given the opportunity to test drive them at the Circuit!
