Yes, the skate/bike megaramp. First thing shown in this years X-Games? Burnquist doing a switch backside ollie (i.e. no grab) 180 over the big megaramp gap. Keeps the baord on his feet via air resistance at whatever crazy speed he's going.
One of the great things I have to miss while in London. Please post up about any cool sh*t that happens
zomg I seriously thought that one guy was dead after that crash. It was BY FAR the worst bail I've ever seen. 50' fall to flat = :eek4: The motox best trick was kind of boring -- I'm looking forward to the supercross race (although it's too bad Jeremy McGrath didn't come out of retirement for this).
The first thing I saw after flipping on the X Games was that guy falling on the skateboard ramp. Holy Cow! I thought he was dead. I can't believe the medics even let him get up and walk away. They totally should've strapped him to a board as a precaution before hauling him to the hospital. He fell from about 50 feet! That is nuts.... Every year they have to go higher and do crazier stuff to win. I pray that nobody ever gets killed.
I watched the highlights, all I could think is wow, I'm old. They're talking about the heros of my day coming out of retirement, and all the people competeing to me are like who? Also anyone see the chad kagy crash, damn i hate collarbone breaks.
I think the producers thought they had thier first dead guy also. He was only on the ground 15-20 seconds and they cut to comercial. Side note. Ok, so the x-games are getting to be this huge deal. Now if you want to broadcast in HD, actually broadcast in HD. Stupid ass letterbox's on the side of the hd feed, and the picture was hardly any better then the SD feed. Russ
Agreed. However, I think that the ABC feeds this weekend will be in true HD (weren't they last year?).
That fall was some crazy stuff, and from the looks of it (I saw it happen on TV at BW3) he bailed when he left the lip of the half-pipe. I don't know if he thought he was going too far away from it, and bailed on purpose, but OUCH!
No, they weren't. Pissed me off because I set up the HD DVR card in my PC to record the rally stuff, it takes gigs and gigs ans gigs, and there it is, more or less SD, boxed to the left and right.
back flips are just a commitment trick they don't take much skill, this is real skill... MANUAL TO ICEPICK GRIND TO TAILWHIP OUT WHAT!!!!!!!!!
The guy got off real lucky after the fall. Between this and the fmx guys, soon some one is going to die, maybe not this particular event, but similar ones(i.e. the red bull dirt comps)
