Well, for the first time, I bought a "stock" Subaru.
Wait, what?! .... I know, right!
Before we dig into the new car, let's take a quick trip down memory lane, shall we..

The one that started it all... Big thanks to @PaulasaurusREX for starting me off with a well kept Wrx.

Bought this from a coworker.. Needed a new clutch and a serious detail. Fixed/cleaned it up and sold it to local.

So, I wanted to purchase a house.. The wrx wagon sold and I figured it was time to let the sedan go as well to help pad my downpayment. About this time, I had a buddy who's family had owned a 2.5rs for the previous 10 years.. I had always wanted to try one of those out and luckily, his brother blew up the motor and, well, the rest is history.. This has been my favorite car to date... I will own one again, someday.

For some reason or another, I thought having an outback wagon would help me with hauling house project things.. Again, bought a car with a bad motor and decided to dig in.

The next car kind of fell in my lap.. My roommate works at SVS in Duluth and had a customer bring in a car with a bad motor. Knowing nothing about a Legacy GT I figured I couldn't pass on the price. Also, the 2.5rs was fun, but a coupe on coilovers was not a great car for a new homeowner.. And I had sold the wagon. Time for something bigger and with the limited package.

At some point, I thought, again, that I needed to have an outback sport.. Bought it, parked it for 4 months, and sold it back to its owner. (I believe it changed hands 3 times after he sold it)

The next shout out goes to @ofspunk7 and his 09 wrx. This car was superb and Derek took great care of it. Really the only reason I let it go was, well, I wasn't using it how it should be used. I barely ever got into boost and I was paying for a sports car that I was never very sporty in.. (*GULP* am I getting old?!) I'll let the new owner speak up when he feels like it.. He is a member.

Okay, so, on to the fun part.. For the longest time, I have had a soft spot for the SH Foresters. I've always wanted a FXT of the 09+ flavor, but as I stated above, what's the point of a turbo if you never really use it. If I wasn't going to be fast, perhaps I could at least be comfy. And here we are today.. No, it's not going to be a luxury car by any means, but the goal here is to make it my own as best I can.

Here is what we have to start with:

Looking good! If you held on to those wheels you put on the 09 WRX, they are going to look really good with that color! Congrats again on the purchase! Excited to see the progress!

FWIW, I feel the same way about my 04 WRX I just sold that you do about your 2.5rs. One day...

Well, I can try and work on finding a full turbo back.. But my Foreste is NA, so I was only looking for cat back.

Yea, ours is n/a too. We just need a new cat. Not too many takeoff's with the n/a's. :(

I don't know if you've decided on saggy butt spacers yet but when I had my 09 Foz on stock 2012 WRX suspension, I went with 1" Paranoid Fab spacers and they were perfect. I was living in Duluth at the time and regularly hauled my Nomad and a Mojo on a hitch mounted rack and it worked great. Just thought I would add some feedback. Looking forward to the progress!

Last week I got the desire to test out some wheels.. It did not end well..

    Stock Setup
    [IMG]

OZ Ultralegarra 18x8 with what I think I remember as 235/40/18
    [IMG]

    Comparing the two.. Gross
    [IMG]

So then I decided to try a set my buddy has laying around..

    Rota DPT 18x9.5 with 255/45/18s
    [IMG]

    Side profile looked nice
    [IMG]

So, this was a complete fail all the way around.
I guess I will have to find time to install my wrx suspension and spacers.
