Did anyone see that deer that got DESTROYED! On 169N just before the little bridge before the 494 junction? There was a about a 1/8 mile of blood and fur and tire sliding marks... The deers in the left lane... What ever hit it was flying and was big! Well thats what i noticed while stuck in traffic this morning... just thought id share.
what? no pics? j/k. about 12 years ago I saw the aftermath of a pregnant doe get hit by a car. that was not pretty. blood and baby deer all over the place.
This is a little off topic, but I saw a lady in the lane next to me on 35W SLAM! into about 5-8 full grown geese that were, for some insane reason, trying to cross the road in the middle of rush hour traffic. I was in the left lane and saw these geese trying trying to cross from the right so I just drove around them. The lady behind me in the right lane was caught by surprise and had a car on her left. I watched in my rear view mirror....WOW! She was probably doing about 50 at the time of impact. You could see her panic, brace, and then just go for it. It was brutal, cars swerving all over the place trying to avoid wounded and mangled geese all over the road. It was pretty narly to say the least.
^ hahahahahahahahaha. I have no mercy for geese. People always stop for them and therefore they cross roads like they own them. I wish I had pics of the carnage from me hitting a deer at about 100mph a few years ago. It wasn't pretty, for the deer or my car.
No kidding. Drove to MI through WI last weekend and the roads are just littered with dead deer. I was behind a guy in a minivan on I35 down south of the cities who hit a deer once at ~80mph. His hood flew up and basically ramped the deer right up over the van, and over me in the car behind him. I just saw this huge spray and a large shape fly up past me. The guy was stunned, airbag went off, hood was covering the windsheild, but he managed to get it pulled over safely. I pulled over behind him and put out the fire that had started in the engine compartment after checking that he was OK. Waited with him for the highway patrol to stop and make a report and then drove him into the cities where his wife met us. That van was a total for sure. We never did find the deer afterwards, but we didn't try too hard either.
Yep I saw all those dead deer too. Just did a trip to MI and back on Wed. to Sat. LOTS of dead deer on the highways.
Heh. I was driving a rental Mitsu Gallant. Turned it in covered with bits of deer hide, bone and blood all over it. Pretty nasty.
I was very lucky when I smoked bambi's mom at such a rate of speed. I hit her completely square. Plus I didn't have a bumper cover on at the time, so the beam kept her from flying upwards. My hood latch didn't fail either. I the beam was toast, AC condensor was covered with blood/her breakfast/suet and the whole thing was pushed into the motor slightly. Tore a chunk out of the timing belt and broke three of the covers. The lower radiator support was mangled. My airbag did go off as well. Its not fun slowing down from around 100 with steam obscuring your view and trying to counter your wagging tail end with an airbag hanging out of your steering wheel. Came to a stop at an angle with 12ft boulders on one side and 2-3ft diam trees on the other. Lesson learned: Don't hit the road when in a serious snit with a girlfriend
