Short answer. Yes. If SoA hears one word about any of them, you are SOL.

Not what you want to hear, I know. Sorry :(

If a person was to have a car with the above mentioned after market parts, would it be worth while to tow car home or to a shop and have OEm parts put back on, before you tow it to dealer for repair. Seems like a headache but It would have saved this guy some money.

first mistake was having it towed to wbl, they wont discount on parts, i doubt they will do anything for you. not to say they do bad work, but it seems like they are pretty strict

How does a SPT air Intake function differently than a after market model, or the SPT exhaust. If it was a SPT Air intake it would be fine, correct.:eek3:

^ SPT stuff is prety much just rebranded aftermakrte stuff. but subaru has "tested" these parts and will there for extend a warranty over them and what they do to your car. prety much you just go and pay extra $ and you can mod your car with a warranty to a certain extent (intake, exhuast, coils ect...)

Is a, lets just say HKS air intake, any better than a SPT, same type of course, and if it isnt than why buy after market to begin with. SPT seems to be a little cheaper in price sometimes.:eek3:

Warranty fraud is a bad thing. Techs can tell if parts have been removed in a lot of cases, and it just makes them look deeper into why it failed. Why should Subaru have to pay for a failure that could've been caused by an aftermarket part? And SPT parts aren't always cheaper, some of them are ungodly expensive.

Mac-Leg, what kind of parts did you have on there and what is the extent of your mods?

I am not sure about an HKS, but if you compare a SPT cold air intake or short ram intake to your run of the mill intake it wil preform almost identical. this doesnt include some of the crazy stuff, like some huge 4" intake or some crazy ARC contraption. but you get the idea.

as for SPT being cheaper everytime i have looked the seemed to be $$$$$$. but maybe i am looking at the wrong things.
