Thought I'd throw up a pic of what I just finished in the car... It's my new push-button start. The switches are a combo lock! Prolly was a total of about 2.5 working hours (spread over 3 months). Works like a charm though!! You can tell me what you think if you wish...
haha, awesome.. very Bond!:coolugh: Practically don't know about it, but +1 to you for doing it, and doing it pretty well
mwahahahahah that rules. You should add a hidden fuel pump switch inside of your shift boot as well for extra awesomeness. Then to top it off, have a knife shoot out of the seat (into the crotch area, of course) if the switch code is incorrectly sequenced on something like the 3rd try.
You need to change a couple of things in there. First off, your combo needs to be UP, UP, DOWN, DOWN, LEFT, RIGHT, LEFT, RIGHT. Next, you need to add 3 more buttons. A "Select" button for initiating the button combo prompt, and a "B" and an "A" button to press in combination. Then you need a "Start" button for turning your car over, but you need to enter the combinations before the title menu comes up.
riiiiiiiiight.....dunno bout you, but I'd rather not have a spring loaded knife sittin under the sac....personal preference I guess...HA HA. It was awesome though, cuz I got all the way from work (MNTKA) to 394 & 100 before I realized the steering lock was still engaged...that was a little un-nerving going up a ramp at 45...HA HA HA
"Dude, this car has switches, let's flip them" *flip, flip, flip, flip, push button* :eek4: <-Facial expression afterwards
you should consider carrying around a sawed off with you at all times in your back pocket and maybe a detonation switch too just incase someone tries to steal your car you can either blow there head off or if they make it away blow them up.
I'm sure he wired them to be an and/not circuit (even though more than likely there are all on when the car fires), that being said you could get around that. Could have bought a small PLC and taken it out with you every where you went, also could have mounted it under the dash.
whats there to stop someone from just ripping out the center console and overriding the relay and/or switches???
pretty sure he didn't.. unless he lies He was clearing up that fact because half of that first page was of people pointing that out. Yeah, is there anything to stop someone from ripping that out and tie two wires together?
well other than the fact that I used one color for all the wiring (including grounds) and there are about 500 wires down there with all the relays...other than that, no....but it's just like I tell my custys with alarms....if someone is smart enough, and has enough time, they'll get it no matter what...
I've noticed you still haven't address the question of if that is your combo which leads me to believe that yes, that is the combo.

if the switches had more variables, like up, middle, down, then it might be a little harder. I do like the idea. (plus, I didn't type them all out, lol)
switches can be jumped...so someone could put a jumper from the start to the end and it would work. Depending on how you had it wired...
We have puzzles like this at school, it is very much like a PLC. You could splice in an led to each switch and when it turns on you know you have completed the circuit.
I'm pretty sure I said it wasn't the code on the first page...either way, it's NOT. Secondly, yeah, this contraption isn't all that hard, the switches themselves only have 64 possible positions, ditto to the relays. And they aren't all wired to a switch directly; some relays are triggered by other relays, complicating the circuit.:biggrin::biggrin:
