I don't know if any of you click the banners ever on here, but curiosity killed the cat for me today. Needless to say, I was rewarded this time. http://toyobaru.net/forums/f9/press-briefing-fhi-president-ceo-ikuo-mori-scheduled-today-421/ If they made that, as it is, especially in a WRX variant without taming it down and laming it... I likely know what I'd be buying next. Just stumbled, figured I'd share.
Do you think they'll have one on display at the 53rd International Auto Show in San Francisco next week? The roaster doesn't show any Subaru's on the list just that the info is coming soon. I'll be there next week along with a scheduled test drive of the new Nissan Leaf. If this thing exist at the show I'll be sure to snap a few pictures for ya. http://www.sfautoshow.com
that'd be fantastic. I'm just glad Subaru is going a new route, this last gen never really did it for me... could be worse tho, could be a Juke.
so will it stay 2.0na or do u think they will have different motors also do u think they will do a 5spd or a six or just keeep it a cvt?
I can't see how that roofline is gonna work...either you can wear a cowboy hat in the front seat or in the back seat you have your chin on your chest. And what is it gonna look like with an STi ricer wing on it?
I think it looks great! 2.0 NA will be the base Impreza I'm sure. I'd imagine the WRX and STI would get a turbo, like usual. That's how all the new cars are. "4 door coupe" Rear headroom is terrible, but it sure does look cool from the outside. And you never sit in the back of your own car, so who cares, right?
I hope the 2.0 is based off of the new 2.5 dohc in the forester, because if its basicly an n/a version of the wrx 2.0, its going to be made of glass.
Toyota must have had something to do with the styling. It's Toyota Inspired in a way.... the front lights. Why does all the concept cars always have that same Into-the-Future interior.....???
Hmm, I don't like the little half wing that intrudes on the honey comb in the front, looks to contrived for me. I'd be really suprised if they didn't offer the big wing in a options package like the Evo X. If the large wing is an option with a smaller wing being standard the STI will attract a wider range of buyers. I know I shied away from EVO's and STIs because of the big wing. Ended up with a WRX instead. I want to see it with a hood scoop and a modest wing, and to see that CVT turned into shrapnel on a Mythbusters show yes I hate CVTs that much. To whom ever mentioned it the rear does kind of look like a Volvo. Overall it doesn't inspire lust or loathing.. I'd like to see it in person before I judge too harshly.
Because it's a custom-made concept. The interior is the last thing they sort out, so it is some abomination. Quite standard on concept cars. A concept car cost $5 million + to produce, and the interior is a small part of that.
I was thinking angry carp with a fumanchu... and can you say EVO front end... that interior is wild.. bet ya $5 it will never look like that
I'm hoping they can manage to engineer some head gaskets and seals that will keep all the various important liquids where they belong for longer than 120,000 miles.
Anyone else notice that there are no mirrors...You can see a tiny fin looking thing poking out where the window rolls up, but thats not practical in any way...
