    From what I have been reading they are trying to male us obsolete. They are now working on smart cruise control that will fully drive the car. They already got a car to drive itself up pikes peak. As for in the racing field I can only hope that will always be the test of driver skill

    There's no end in sight on the debate between man vs machine. What I found very interesting about this story was instead of man vs machine, why not allow machine to help man achieve their absolute level of driving. The testing they've done up to this point with a antonymous driver just proves how far we can keep pushing. Making vehicles safer for all of us.

    I don't think electronic mods are bad, without them racing wouldn't be what it is today, I just don't ever want to get to a point where we are just racing large remote control cars.

    So long as it isn't "just", I'm all for racing a large RC car!

    You hinted at the answer earlier. This isn't a new question, just a new topic for the same question we've been trying to answer since the start of the industrial revolution. Last I checked the answer was still "dunno".
