I love seafood more than anything. Oceanaire is expensive but its worth it! By far the best seafood I've had in MN. Whats the occasion?
Right now I'm just trying to make up and see if I can still work things out with my wife for the kids. Im allergic to shrimp and lobster but I love good fish and oysters. So I wanted to take her out and talk things over.
dang, sorry to hear that. I've never been to the place, but I've never heard a single bad thing about it.
It is nice, and it is expensive. I've been spoiled by fish restaurants by the sea that were as cheap as McDonalds but with food that was easily the equal of the Oceanaire. However, you get significantly better service at the Oceanaire, to the extent that it borders on pampering. Oh, and they have table cloths. Some of the places I've been to tended not to bother with such expensive frippery  Stuart.
I'm, with Stooooooooooooooooooo We've traditionally gone there once a year for my wife's birthday, but I think we're done with that. It's really good, but yes, you go anywhere on the coasts and you can get just as good for a fraction of the price. Plus, everytime we go to a steak place for my birthday, my wife, who loves seafood, ends up enjoying dinner more than her birthady at Oceanaire.
i went there for my ex's birthday 2 years ago it wasn't bad but im not into seafood expensive..as..hell
I have heard great things about it from people a couple years ago, and not the best things more recently. That could be a coincidence, but everyone agreed that it was expensive Have not been there myself though
I've been to the Oceanaire a few times along with some of the other nicer joints around minneapolis. (No i'm not rich, I just have customers who have nice tastes.. thanks to me). It really depends on what you're going for, but I feel it's a pretty good place. Like everyone else said, spendy, but what do you expect. I must say though I had some alaskan king crab last week at stella's in uptown, it rivaled some of the crab i had out in boston. Damn good stuff. Stella's is another idea, but it's not much cheaper, if not the same price. I don't think i'd go to stellas for lobster though.
I like it. It's expensive, but if you want great seafood in MINNESOTA you have to pay up. I think it's "worth it" but not everyone will agree. They filed for bankruptcy last month. No idea how that is affecting them. It's possible that it is not affecting anything at the restaurants they kept open, but who knows.
Tiburon was pretty good too but it may have closed, had an aquarium running through the whole restaurant.
Thanks for the help guys. Now what is the best place to park since its raining like crazy right now? Or is there a parking facility at the Hyatt Hotel?
