Even the non fans jumped on board for a few days! Anyone else going to the Aeros game in a couple weeks?
Ooh! That would be fun! We got to skate at the X a couple of weeks ago for a birthday party. That was pretty cool sitting on the Wild bench and skating at the X.
I too have been sad. I moved back from Colorado in time last year to catch a game, so I was excited to be back this year. Fingers crossed for some sort of season
I am ready for them to just call it. As a season ticket holder, that last thing I was is a shortened and compressed season. Being down at the rink 2-3-4 times in a week sucks. At this point, I want them to call it and I can make my 10% on our money for next season. Russ
On the plus side Granlund is getting on ice time to be even better than he already is. I was more excited to seem him play than Suiter or Parise.
Except he's not getting ice time at the moment(2-4 weeks) I'm not quite ready to throw in the towel on this season but it's getting pretty close. And Russ if they do get the season started I'm still interested in getting up to a full 1/3 share with ya.(however many it turns out to be)
Granlund is a beast. I got a chance to see him in a couple AHL games as well as the World Juniors. I hope he can make the jump to the NHL without any growing pains. They need to get on the ice!
I went to the free prospect game in July, and i was so excited to get the season going. Still am, but want it started ASAP!
Hmmm.... or is it I'm gonna stay positve and try to be excited that an agreement has apparently been made. One plus is maybe we will get playoff style hockey early in a shortened season.
My big thing is on how we will be treated coming back. Feb is when they start asking for money for the next season, so it will be interesting to see how they ask for more money after they have been sitting on my money for the past year. The other thing is going to be the schedule. I can see them trying to jam 3-4-5 games a week in. It sounds like they want to start on the 15th and have a 50 game season. I know I don't have the time to hit that many games. It will also be interesting to see how we get screwed with our 3 big back diving contracts. Russ
Yeah maybe signing on for a full season of Twins tickets wasn't such a good plan after all Might be time for me to go back to working some longer hours
Time to get this thread rolling again. Try to forget the last 4 months and think back to July when everyone was looking forward to the season getting started, well here we go. Either Russ is really nice or I'm a dick either way I'll have his seats tomorrow. Anyone else going?
The gf is at the Gophers game with her brother tonight and they have tix to the wild game tomorrow night too. jelly
So we finally have hockey NHL hockey and nobody is posting in here?! I caught the 2nd period last night at the bar, but after going to the Gopher game and watching more hockey at the bar...I was pushing my luck with the gf so we left before the 3rd started. No cable here, so following the game on my NHL app tonight.
Based on your response in this thread, I'll go ahead and assume you're a tennis fan, or something dumb of that nature.
19,000+ yesterday and 18,000+ fans tonight seemed to care about the NHL being back. I cared enough to go to both games so far 2-0-0
Damn right! It will be 4-0-0 by Friday. Nashville plays tonight which is a plus for us, and well...I don't thiink Detroit even knows the lockout is over by their last game.
The game the other night was a blast to watch. Seems the Wild have some defensive issues they need to sure up, but with the forwards that we have there is always a chance.
Its no real surprise we've got D issues, we keep changing pairings, Suter is foreign to the system, calling up guys and playing inexperienced players. With that said, overall I think I've been more impressed with Brodin than I have been with Suter so far, and it REALLY irks me that they underrate Gilbert so much. It'd be great if we started shooting more and if Backstrom could spend less time laying on the ice flailing around like a Trout on rocks.
Last night was hard to watch. They keep switching up the lines trying to create some chemistry. With no training camp how are they supposed to have chemistry until they get a chance to play with the same line! I think they will figure it out, let's just hope it's not too late by the time they do.
Over the last few games you could see the offence starting to gel. The "D" seems to have figured things out, now they need to consistently put 3-4 goals on the board each night. I'm liking what I am seeing.
You're making the assumption that Yeo will leave the lines alone finally, which has not been the case. Backstrom still makes me want to smash my head on things, I can't wait for tonight when they play Kuemper to protect Backstrom's stats and the kid wins it.
Good point on the lines staying the same. Backstrom scared the hell out of me last night with those two soft goals.
Two soft goals? I counted three. I also think Spurgeon needs to not be played so much, I appreciate the kid throwing the puck at the net, but he makes SO many mistakes in the D-Zone its almost frightening.
