The Official Camping Thead for LAX - 7-31-2010 (because we need another LAX thread) Me and mine will be. And should we reserve them ourselves or is it going to be a group deal? Sent from my Droid
yeah i haven't requested a place yet... still talking to some people to get a few sites by each other....
yeah did a google search, realized that i didn't read you post right. re-read your post. edited my post (so i didn't look like a total d-bag).... and it took too long because you got me.... let me know when you are thinking about locking down a camp site
I was going to type it Petti/boner/esort for ya next...lol. I'll try to call tomorrow after work prolly!
The Official Camping Thead for LAX - 7-31-2010 (because we need another LAX thread) Awesome just let me know when. Sent from my Droid
The Official Camping Thead for LAX - 7-31-2010 (because we need another LAX thread) I just called and they said they don't do one night reservations... Sent from my Droid
The Official Camping Thead for LAX - 7-31-2010 (because we need another LAX thread Hmmmmm. Hotel? How much is two days at the campground? Maybe we can get a bigger site for one night? Or maybe they will let us if we have a lot of people....
The Official Camping Thead for LAX - 7-31-2010 (because we need another LAX thread) That's what I was thinking. Sent from my Droid
If they don't let you do the one night I might just stay at the 97 LGT Resort. Not the most spacious quarters but it's cheap. Sent from my Droid
Ok, I have sent them an email, because I can't call right now. Please hold off on renting a place. I am going to see if they will bend their 1 night rules.... as well I am going to go for a group discount. So lets wait for them to email me back, then we can see what they say.
Yeah, I really don't think it will be an issue. If they don't respond to my email while I am at work, I will call on my drive home.
The resort will not change their rules... so you have to book two nights. Why do they show 1 night's rate when they require two or more nights? Anyways, what do people want to do? It looks like $40 + Taxes to get a tenting site.... $66 + Tax for the RV sites.
That's what I was wondering.. .40 isn't a huge expense by anymeans, just kinda sucks you'll pay for a night you probably won't use. It sounded like you could just show up and get one night..but idk how open they'd be then.. Sent from my Droid
I'm checking into 4 different campgrounds tomorrow afternoon. All within 5 miles of Copeland, besides one, River's Edge campground is 18.3 miles north(just across the river from Winona). That spot could work too. I'll keep everyone posted! Also, most of them run $18 a night, with one night rentals available. Like I said, i'll keep everyone posted
Do you want me to call? Cause this wasnt a problem last year when I talked with the manager and sort out a deal
Sure, I am open to anything. If you can make this work that would be great. I am guessing this is where Josh is looking.
here's another option http://www.lacrossecountycamping.com/ Goose Island Park is nice if you like deer - I'd say something about the mosquito's but they're a given anywhere on the river.
I looked at 4 different places and determined that Goose Island is the best option. Keeps us close to LaX if anyone wants to hit the late night, or biking, or hiking...etc. They said that there are currently 94 sites available a don't forsee it getting overly booked for that weekend. Sooo... Cash or card accepted. $18 dollars/site-one tent/site. You CAN have two tents on one site, but EACH tent has to pay the $18. $22.50 if you reserve before July 31st. She recommended that we all wait until the day of the event to get our sites to save the $4.50. They're open until 10pm and have a general store on location if you need a couple of small items. So we can convoy over there after the event and set up our gear without any problems.
Wow josh that is awesome. I also like that idea because we can watch the weather too. thanks for doing the leg work on all of this.
updated. sorry i am slacking because i found out i am on-call next week (Wed - Wed) so that means my weekend is shot.
I'm debating if it's worth setting up a tent. I'll camp out but back of car has always worked just fine for me.
I'd rather just save the money and pay for the site once we're there. Maybe we can have them set a block of sites off to one-side just for MNSubaru peeps that day? Perhaps just call ahead while cruising out there and ask for however many sites are needed to be grouped together?
I'll call them the day of. They said that there are over 90 available sites. It really should be no problem getting 15-20 next to each other. I will also be calling first of next week to confirm the 90+ sites. We'll be covered, no worries!
