I am just wondering, is anyone else sick of the use of the Reply To All function in email? How is it that so many people think that what they have to say is SOOOO imortant that everyone in the original email NEEDS to know? I got an email from an individual last night about how his email address was hacked and emails being sent our from his address. it occured to be that he did not feel good about this situation, and he was most likely a little embarrased. Then some "IT professional" emailed the entire group about how the original emailer should have used the BCC field so that the email addresses would be more secure, whether this is right or wrong I thought it was inconsiderate to the original emailler as he most likely was feeling bad about the situation already. I would think that it would have been more appropriate for this "IT professional" to email the original emailler instead of "talking" to this person in front of the entire email group. Any thoughts?
Sounds like your IT pro is a dick, or at least a little senseless. With that said, most folks need a little email etiquette training. BCC has its appropriate usage, just most folks don't know what that is. As for the reply-all, it should be used only if the reply email is regarding an issue that everyone on the original email is working on (ie; directly in reply to the original email content).
