So I've been thinking about getting back into a turbo car, preferably with AWD. After some searching for Audis and Subarus, I got lucky and found a gem. It's a 2005 Saab 9-2x with low miles and all the right subtle mods done to it already. 20mm rear sway bar, konis, springs, boost gauge, and snow tires! For those that don't know, this is essentially a rebadged WRX wagon with nice bits like heated seats, climate control, STI steering rack etc. There are a million mods you can do to these from mild to wild and at relatively reasonable prices. I'm looking forward to auto-xing it in the spring and generally being enthusiastic about it. Her name is Black Betty.
And it's not my first Subaru. This was my 2002 WRX I bought new in 2001: And a wagon I had for a bit a few years back:
Nice ride. I am probably not the only one thinking this car really needs some tinted windows to make it "POP".
Yep, definitely plan on tinting it. Anyone know if the cold weather package window deicers will screw with tint?
Nope de-icer grid is on outside of windshield (which you can't tint anyway) below the dash line so no worries there. If you're talking about rear defroster people tint over them all the time.
I was talking about the rear. It seems to have a wavy de-icer underneath the wiper blade and I think that is on the part of the window that would be tinted. I'm sure it's fine.
Yeah, I saw it ^ very nice. I really like the look of this car, the Saabaru Hood scoop looks smooth and clean. Nice Ride.
I deflowered this virgin lot. And driving in the snow is so rad. Barely any cars out. Also upgraded my shift knob to a LGT one. Much better.
Oh my, Such a cute little beast! I cannot wait to wave at you. Unfortunately it will be from my new wagon and not my old wrx
Installed the newer 6CD MP3 stereo today. It's great and also connects to the AUX input. Gotta have music.
Nice location in the original pics. The 'ol Bureau of Mines. Taken tons of pics there myself. And nice Saabaru, too.
Yeah it's kinda fun to explore back there. Such a shame because that building was originally pretty good looking. Too bad about the asbestos.
Nice! I miss my old black Saabaru... I'll be posting up pics of my Desert Silver Metallic one turning into a SaabaruSTi very soon!!
I enjoyed the car but it was not how I remembered my original WRX (I'm sure my memory is skewed a bit). I've just become used to German cars vs. Japanese and decided it wasn't for me. So, I'm sticking to BMWs. I'm super nerdy about my cars and if I don't enjoy it for any reason, I'll sell it. My loss, but at least only I have to deal with it. ;-P
