Hi, I finally got around to introducing myself. I just bought a '99 Subaru Legacy Outback Wagon and with our interesting North Woods weather am already learning to appreciate the AWD. My brother introduced me to these fun vehicles by buying an STI (think it was an '05?). He's already on his second, while I just bought my first. The wagon is in great shape. High miles, but completely gone through in the last 80,000 miles (motor not quite 30,000 miles ago). It has a crap repair on the quarter panels, but I'll fix that this spring. That's what I do, mostly. Collision repair, restorations, and hot rods are my main income. I also teach guitar and bass at a small studio, part-time. Oh, and I'm in college again full-time. On every other Sunday, I sleep. LOL Hobbies are powerlifting/bodybuilding, and hunting. I'm loving the Outback. It's quite a step up from my last car ('95 Saturn SL-1). Anyways, nice to meet y'all. dtelker
Yeah, thanks, medic_538. Actually, that's 80,000 on the rebuild of brakes, ac system, some body work on the front end, and the <30,000 on the motor. The odometer reads 202,900. LOL It isn't perfect, but it runs like a top. I'm sure I'll have this one until that odometer reads >400,000.
I've got you both beat with my 208,000+ miles....on a 2002. Lol. Welcome to MnSubaru and enjoy your stay!
The studio is across the bay in Maple, WI. I am always happy to give an estimate on bodywork. PM me with some pics, or if you're ever up north we could meet up and talk it over. It's not too long of a drive up here, depending on where in the metro area you're coming from.
