the02 03 04 05 and 06 wrx differences

ive heard alot of people ask what the difference is between all of these cars is. 2002-2003 2003 gets lighted keyhole and sunroof/heated seat option. the difference between 2004 and 2005 is 05s get painted sideskirts, bronze colored legacy GT wheels (2003-04 GT) silver accented interior with auto climate controlls, powertrain wise no different then 02 03 04 accept for maybe a differently programmed ecu, and a supposidly more stronger tranny :? . 2006 all new looks, euro tails, 2.5 liter forester engine 230 HP, electronic throttle(first year offered in wrx!) 17 inch alloy wheels (hot), big brakes, slightly different interior, leather offered in wagons tan or black. add what you know

 

03+ WRX tranny gets wider 1-3rd gear, same width as RA; this applies to Forester Turbo as well.

 

i just recalled that 05 got a different axel-back, carried over to 06

04+ added a sensor to the PCV system

04+ has a non-painted remote coolant tank up by the turbo

different ecu code between 02-03, 04, 05

04+ has a different bracket assembly (with no cover) for the front o2 sensor, egt sensor, and I think one other harness that I can't think of

04+ has an improved brake bias system

That's all I can think of off the top of my head -- this is also for only the 02-05 WRX. It's quite obvious that a number of changes were made for the '06.
