http://www.thecarlab.com/xbrace/index.html "The Car Lab claims that the X-Brace increases handling by 0.1G. Yes, you read that correctly, and they say this improvement was confirmed by a team within Subaru when The Car Lab submitted this product to Subaru for testing on the Nurburgring. The X Brace appears to do more than a regular rear strut bar. It essentially strengthens the rear of the cabin in the same way a firewall strengthens the front of the cabin. " After I get it installed, I'll let you know what the difference is.
looks kind of similar to the cusco rear brace with the floor attachment, v brace or somthing like that. But yea let us know how it works. How much was it?
I went with the chrome moly version which is more expensive... $479.00 Base one (mild steel w/blue ends) is $389.00
looks cool. i bet it will help. i would rather have gotten the GT spec one with ehte floor brace. just myu opinion though
well...you're not going to gain must "GRIP" from strut bracing. The car still leans/rolls, and you're still on the same tires. Bracing really comes into play when you're on still suspension. All your suspension bushings are still mushy.... BUT bracing does help. I still haven't put any strut bracing into my car yet, I love swaybars more.
lol @ the website: "Two X-Brace owners finished first place in the Novice class at Solo 2 Autocross events held this summer." umm.. ok. I have seen a ford probe beat a lotus elise and two evos in a novice class before. I wouldn't think that a little chassis bar would help that much... and besides, its not like they made a nationally uncompetitively classed car suddenly win by putting one of these things on not to mention that this brace will throw the car in a really high autoX class which is probably why they quoted stats from a novice class which is unregulated. I just wish they could make a better statement about the "race proven" aspects of their products right as the first thing you see on the site.
IMHO, this would be probably one of the last things to add once you've already spent a ton of money on all of the other suspension bits first. $479? yikes!
