So friend of mine keeps sending me facebook messages about how much better his Scion tC is than my car. I really want to make fun of him... but I just... kinda... feel bad for him. Ya know? :ugh: Scion tC > STi ?? Really? I think he might have drug problems or something.

A *supercharged* tc might hold its own with a Si or weak-kneed WRX launched at idle, but a regular tc is a turd compared to an STi or modded WRX.

Tell him his Toyota is a gutless POS, and tell him MNSubaru sent you. :biggrin:

The factory option is a supercharger. If turbocharged, it is modded, and then all bets are off.

But c'mon, this is a guy talking smack via facebook. He proly thinks plastic wings are really aerodynamic.

^^^Hey NUKE, I think it is Supercharged. Or should I say it is supercharged. My buddy has one w/the TRD supercharger. I think the supercharger is made from Vortech.

 

Well, regardless of what they can do turbocharged... he's trying to tell me that his completely stock car (w/ exhaust) is so much better than my 05 STi. I just think it's funny.

Plus, no matter how much power he might eventually make... he's still got to deal with the fact that FWD is worthless.

 

It makes me embarassed that I almost bought an Ion Redline or a Tc..... Ugh.

 

haha i pulled up to taco bell once and a kid had a tC and thought he was the sh** with like 3 people looking in aw at his car. i get out of my car and the first thing he said to me was making fun of my spoiler. He then proceeded to challenge me to a "street race" as he called it and i ignored him and walked in side, with him calling me a ***** to my back. lol, my cheesy gordita crunch is more important to me

Well, when I was in college like a billion years ago, I ran into a kid with a normal Civic (no vtec) with a fart can who told me his car ran 0-60 in the fives. It was all I could do to not laugh as I got into my SHO.

I can't say a Cobalt SS would be a bad car, but it is fwd, and I had enough of that with the SHO.

My roommate's got a Cobalt SS... Actually the supercharger does help out in the pull and accelleration department, but the car seems to have cheep suspension and terrible traction...

He has done a few mild upgrades like changing his air intake, exhaust and a couple other "stage 1" cobalt upgrades, but I don't think he could hang with the ol REX cobb stage 2 setup I currently have runnin. Once AWD and the turbo kicks in, i go WOOT!!!

His car is the biggest beotch to drive in the winter time as well... Amen to 4 wheels spinning at the same time!!!

I actually like the tC, a nice little car. The engine isn't half bad either. If I didn't run across my current Forester being sold used for a great price at a nearby city, I would be driving one right now. If you don't need the cargo space, the awd, or back seating capable of fitting 6' plus adult people, it's a good car. Subaru is more utilitarian and far more functional, but to say Toyota, or Honda for that matter, doesn't make good cars, that's just ignorant.

Now, saying that a riced out Honda or Toyota is fast is a whole other story. ...and comparing one to a STI, hehe. You should have took him for a ride and showed him what a real car can do.

I beat a stock tC the other day on the way to work. Gorgeous asian girl, was ashame she had to get spanked...

On top of that, I don't have a tuner like most of you guys. I drive a stock 07 Legacy 2.5i. Even worse for the tC... I have an auto.

And Burrito Loco is the ****. Nothing like getting drunk at the Library and then eating Burritos.

They had good torque off the line and revved very quickly. They made 73hp/L, which is still quite good considering the car was not gutless down low. By comparison, a Z06 makes 72hp/L.

The few NA cars that make more hp/L are dogs down low, and if you want something to rev, buy a motorcycle.
