So we finally had a couple warm (40F+) days here in Houghton and the all the snow melted off the blacktop as the roads dried up. I got on the bridge, accelerated as normal through 1st gear, then shifted into 2nd and floored the car, just for grins (I don't get to floor it too often in winter, as you might imagine :D ).
Well, as soon as it hit full boost all 4 tires broke lose (205 55 16 Blizzak Revo1s on dry blacktop!) and I torque steered towards the bridge guardrail. I immediatelly lifted my foot off the gas and corrected, so I didn't hit anything, but DAMN! What a difference from my lowly 2.5RS where I could pretty much just floor it whenever I wanted and not worry about it.
My P&P VF-22 is going in at the end of the month... This should be interesting to say the least :)

    Nice.

Now, when you get those summer tires on and the thing just goes! That would be fun. I got all giddy just imagining that kind of power.

Actually I'm afraid the tranny is going to go when I roll my fenders and drop some 225 45 17 Azenis in there and then try to break my 4.07second 0-100km/h time :(

you'd get a faster 0-60 with the smaller wheels.

I got some 225/45/17 azenis' to put on there too this summer, but i doubt that requires fender rolling, I've seen a few gc8's run them without problems

It probably depends a lot on your wheels; 215 45 17s Kuhmo Ecsta MX on 17x7" Kazera KZ-1s rubbed back and front on my car (lowered 1 to 1.5 inches on H&R sport springs). 225s will definitely rub with those rims.
True, less rotational mass will make the car accelerate faster... But I want to autox :)

What do you think your car could run in the quarter?

    (182km/h = 114MPH = my trap speed).
    "Mods" that day:

Full tank of gas (12 gallons of 93 octane + 2.5 gallons of Turbo Blue 110 leaded)
Full interior (all mats, spare tire, car jack)
    Snow tires
2 people in the car (Driver + Passenger)
Misc. Crap in the trunk (nothing too heavy though)
    4000 - 4500RPM launch (bogged a little bit).
Stock engine management (20PSI peak boost, 15PSI target it seems?)

I can run it to 22PSI peak and 19 - 20PSI hold by tricking the ECU by removing the "sources switching solenoid" hose but I've only done that once since I had my throttle body / intake manifold / exhaust manifold ported and polished; the engine boosts higher now as a result of this and 22PSI from a VF29 just doesn't seem like a very good idea. That said, it is quite a bit faster that way.
I am told it will run high 11s with the VF22 :D

225/45-17 plus proper offset wheels != rubbing.... I have plenty of clearance even with the drop on the RS (~1.25" f&r). Now, when I put on 245s.....rolling will be required.

    What wheels do you run?
I'm going to venture a guess that proper offset wheels cost a fair amount more than my Kazeras :)

    Rota TarmacII - 48 offset

I run them on the RS with the race rubber in the summer, and on the STi in the winter with snow tires....
