There are a few cars i have wanted to own since i first saw them.

when i was 9 my dad was buying a mazda protege, while him and my mom were off doing there thing i was destroying syncros in a miata on the floor, it was little i was little, i ended up staying the same height so i have always wanted one.

I wanted a toyota tacoma for the longest time, it was a rugged looking truck with decent mpg, and even if it was the 4cyl it always looked kinda cool.

the subaru wrx, the commercials when they were almost here "the silver one flying through the wet roads, and the sound inside the cabin" you know what i am talking about "driving pleasure" it was quick nimble and as car and driver said under $25k

Tonite i am facing the loss of my WRX, I have had the car for a little over 2 years, and thats the longest i have owned a car. I wash it every week sometimes twice in one. I love my subaru community, "awjunkies, mnsubaru, awdaddicts" sorry NASIOC!

My life has been very unstable since last fall, when I left San Diego, and my job with Bose Corp. "4.5 years" I fell in love with this area, and i have always taken great pride in working for such a company. LIfe was superb, but when i had a personal tragedy happedend i left my job, and my new city for the comfort of friends and family in Minnesota. I returned out here as many of you know just this past January, and have had the worst time finding a job. the job i finally found doesnt pay half of what i was making, but i have to work.

My financial situation in forcing me into a much more affordable vehicle, payment and isurance wise! I have been looking and will not lower myself to a civic or corolla "no offence to anyone" I have found a 97 miata that is in immaculate condition. and as excited as i have tried to make myself, as i went out tonite for a smoke, I couldnt help but dropping a tear over the fact i have never enjoyed maybe even loved a car as much as my WRX. I have taken such great care of her. She was there when the other she left. played ruff on all four whenever i asked, but was always willing to clean up and go out for the nite.

I hope i will still be able to come out all the nights, with you guys, i really dont know anyone down here.

So tonite take a moment and think about how much you are blessed, even i am to be able to afford a car. and remember that our luxory, can sometimes dissapear over nite.

    This one's for my WRX

that's how I felt as I watched my blue lifted wagon leave on someone elses trailer....I still wonder what ever happened to it. especially since the kid told me that he crashed his old subaru into a fence post while bombing it through the fields. just seconds after counting out $1600 in cash and signing the title.....I don't think there ever was a more appropriate time for a Man-tear or 2.

anyway, get yourself a FWD AT subaru. and build it into a WRX. my insurance is dirt cheap (well, as cheap as it can be for a 21yo male with mediocre grades and 2 speeding tickets), because according to the VIN, my loyale has a 91hp EA82 motor, with a 3-speed AT and FWD.....

Job search really sucks especially when you take a loss of salary. At least the cost of living in Minnesota is less then San Diego. Even though the job you now have does not pay as well, keep looking. Go to all the on line job search sites. Minnesota state has its own which narrows down the location. Employers are having a hard time getting technical people, it just takes time to connect. For every $10k in salary it takes a month or more of job search to find the job you are happy with. If you are under stress dealing with emotional issues, interviews can be devastating. Getting your focus on to the future may be the hardest thing. Developing a good resume is not easy. Presenting yourself in a way that makes you desirable in many places not just what you did at Bose is what your resume needs to do. The key is how to take your education and experience and make it apply generically so to speak. Bose produces audio reproduction products, if you had a part in the development speaker drivers some of what you did may apply to hard drive. The linear motor in a speaker works on the same principle as the head actuator in a hard drive. Seagate is a big employer in Minnesota that produces hard drives by the millions. That's a potential job opportunity. If you had anything to do in the production side of electronic assembly there is all kinds of possibilities. The medical device industry is really big in the Twin Cities area. The same electronic and electo-mechanical assembly knowledge would apply. I think there is opportunities for you but you do have to work at it.

I apologize to all on the rant but I just don't like to see someone in pain over a job loss.

i feel you man. I dread the day that I will have to say goodbye to mine. I might have to sell mine one day here......looking at either a house or townhome. Its always hard, considering the WRX is the car that I've dreamt about for the past 7-8 years. And everyday that I have her, I've always treated her with the best care on and off the road. But life priorities change. If it does come down to it........I might get an older Subby or an Accord V6 with high mileage. I found a sweet deal on an '99 Acura TL, 90k miles, $8g's......that would be the car possibly if I was to buy today.

Good luck in your job search....and good luck with the Miata.
