I was recently researching on buying a used STi(Don't ask what happen to the 06). Then I saw this http://www.walsersubaru.com/used/Subaru/2007-Subaru-Legacy+Spec-B-Burnsville-Minneapolis-8098ef450a0a0064010ed0a516ee245a.htm and I almost fainted when I saw it. I know the rims aren't the original which sucks but what do you think? I hope it isn't gone before some cash flow comes in.
That's a sexy car. Looks nice in person. I would have bought it had I not picked up a 2010 LGT earlier this summer.
And the STi's 6MT... Still kicking myself for settling for the 2010's 6MT with cable linkage. I really hope an SS will at least help with the feel. I don't even want to think about the absent syncro's and the diffs. *sigh* Anywho, Tux, I'd go drive it and see what you think. While true LGT's are a completely different animal compared to an STi, you might find that you like (or even prefer) it.
Prior to buying my LGT, my short list was EVO, STI and LGT. I chose the LGT for 2 reasons - comfort and sleeper factor.
Great car and great dealership. If that one's in good shape I'd say go for it. Between the GF and I we've had an 06wrx, 07sti, 08lgt, 00RS. Out of those, the lgt has been the best value and the car we both like the most. If it's mostly a DD, I think you'll like it much more than your STI.
I actually went and drove this earlier in the week. The car was in good condition, the front bumper cover was a little off (might just be one of the clips broke, won't notice unless you are really trying), the drivers seat also has a poorly done patch job on the leather, which is about 2-3 inches long. I looked at all plastic under-body covers, and none showed significant scratches or dents. I didn't see dirt in places that it really shouldn't be either. As for the drive, well, it was excellent. Engine felt and sounded smooth, turbo was very quiet and reacted quickly. The clutch was very very heavy, especially when compared to my 09 Legacy SE (5 speed). The clutch reminded me of my old Mazda...whose original clutch had 200k miles on it. The brakes were my only real concern, the sales guy said they won't sell it without 40% life left, but I'd be surprised if they lasted more then 15-20k miles. A couple of items were a bit worn (not surprising given the age), specifically the in-cabin trunk release and the in-dash information display toggle. Both worked, but not as well as they were did when new. At the end of the day, this car is priced well below retail, and is in very good condition. I would not hesitate to pull the trigger if this is what you are looking for.
