Hi Scott, this will be fun, what type of an event is this? Will it be something simular to Rallyfest? What time should we stopby? Mark Holden won the big prize for Tim O'Neil's rally school. Congrat's.
This event will be held from 6:00-9:00 PM and will be similar to a Rallyfest is some respects. There will be ample historical and never before seen rally videos running on a couple of screens, munchies and refreshments. Rally cars will be on display, along with many rally participants to talk to and maybe a few additional surprise guests (I am working on that now). A New Owners night is being held at the same time so all the tech folks will be present and available. As to the evenings program, we are still going back and forth on that and need a bit of input. What would you like to see here? Some ideas- We can do a general question and answer session on driving and rally with Tim and a few other drivers from the RA series. We could do an analysis by Tim of a few WRC Drivers on various stages. A mini class on driving in gravel or an intro on rally driving. Let me know what you think- Scott Putnam www.subaru.net
Wish I could make it, I will be stuck at work. For me the the most recent highlight was meeting these drivers and doing Q&A. I would love to win an opportunity to ride with a professional on a rally stage. And I would be happy to sign the waiver. LOL
Boo, I'll be working that evening also! I watched a special on the Speed Channel not to long ago about Tim's school. They were featuring Dave Mirra as he tried out Rallying with Ken Block! The school looks amazing and I really wish I could attend this event!
Final Update I updated my initial post at the top of the page with more information on Tim's topic of the evening. After it's all said and done, If this proves to be a success and the turnout is good, I'd like to do more. Please let me know your opinions. Scott
Bump, cause its tonight and I wish I could be there... I know I need to learn more about driving on loose surfaces and left foot braking. Plus, its always fun to hang out with the rally crowd and listen to the kooky stories. Thanks Scott for putting this together. Amy
Wish I could be there too, but the little guy isn't feeling well, and it'd keep him up after his bedtime.
Whaddya know, I lied, I was able to make it, even if it was just for half an hour. Thanks, Scott for putting on an event like this. I would've thought it would be better attended than it was, but it was fun all the same. Stuart.
So... Nemadji is this Saturday. Tim O'Neil was in town on Wednesday. Is Tim lying in the weeds and will just show up at the event? Did he really fly to Mpls to do a meet a greet and pass up an easy, cheap rally? We know CPD has a car for him. Come on....spill.
Been wondering this myself... Especially as it looks like Nemadji will finally be a chance for me and Beryl Ann to get together for the Max-Attack raffle prize, which is the rally school at Tim's...
Rumor I heard was he was going to run Nemadji and something came up that makes him go back East. That's why Al is running with Russell Norton in the Focus? This could be a diversionary tactic though. Amy
