Never planned on Lowering my 02 WRX, but it just looks too high with my 17" SSR's. I am planning on ordering some Prodrive lowering springs, they any good? Where can I find a cheap pair of these? Cheapest I have seen them is $289. Also, I hear they work with stock struts pretty good?

and..if anyone has pics of lowered subys, post em :) !

dang, so many choices, I want it to ride nice (ladies like it) and look pretty low, dont know what to choose...and why are the Prodries soo much more? just the name?

    Prodrives $279

    Tein S techs $192

    Tein H techs $208

    Perrin $214

appears that the S techs ride lower but Im assuming they ride bad on stock struts.

Im with Steve, if your looking for a drop, dont get the Prodrive's. I have them on my car and it dropped it maybe a half inch up front and thats it, but it did improve handling over the stock springs.

Remember though, he has a WRX which has a nice 4x4 look to it with the stock ride height. Your STI has a much better looking ride height to begin with and hence not as much room to drop.

I'm assuming here that Prodrive makes different springs for the WRX and the STI...

sportlines? No, look into the eibach prokit. I have them and love them. good amount of drop, excellent handling, and cheap. (260 shipped the midwest auto salon)

Here's a few pics of my car on Prodrives with stock struts. I'm satisified with the drop and the performance of them.

hey, like the car....but I really like the snow...

How is the drive on highways with the prodrives? Ilove my eibachs, but the one complaint is long drives on the highway, they are real bumpy.

The ride in terms of harshness is no worse than stock. It's a bit stiffer, but certainly not harsh nor bouncy. I drive my wagon ~70 miles a day on the freeway.

The Prodrives/Eibachs/SPT are the same springs. The ride is very good, the drop is about 1.5 inch front, 1 inch rear....perfect. I think they improve the performance about 50-75% over stock. A good balance of ride, performance, and drop.

You'll notice a huge difference if you install bigger rims and better tires. Good luck.

yeah, that is if all springs are is a method of lowering or raising the car. Spring rates are all different.

I'm half done installing AGX struts with SPT springs in my wagon. I'll post a picture when I'm done tomorrow. Anyway two of my old struts were leaking and getting really weak so I'm expecting a pretty big difference in performance with this.

See my posting for used TEIN S-Tech's in the for sale section. $100 OBO

They ride great w/ stock struts.
Evidence: No complaints from my wife while they were in her car.

Question for you guys (forgive any stupiditiy, I don't own a Subaru): are the stock struts on Subarus pretty solid? It surprises me that you guys can lower your rides on stock struts and not worry about blowing them out after a few months. My buddy dropped his WRX on Teins right after buying it from the dealer a couple years ago and it STILL sits & rides perfect.

From an outsider's persepective, a big thumbs-up on construction.
