looks nice, but IMO there something to be said out actually having gauges. well i guess you only really need a gauge for AFR cause you oughta be watchin that one (atleast i need to be)

Yeah, it reads from the ecu and uses the stock probe location for egt so its not optimal, especially for a highly modded or swapped car like yrs... to me tho, it beats having a christmas tree interior with gauges all around you!

Anyways back to the subject...Agree for no christmas tree in the car. That is why I'm thinking of putting something functional on top of my dash where the clock sits now...No more gauges for me...

Wait, so you want to move yr a-pillar gauges to the clock pod?
I want to fab some gauges into the forester din pocket but the 52mm is a tight fit tilted and any smaller would be hard to see...

    Ugh... pass.
Digital Gauges are just too busy to read in a hurry.
i just want to glance at it and see that the little red pointy thing isn't in the big red area. =)

thats what the warning lights/signals are for. So you dont ever really have to look at anything but the road. Information when and if you need it and how you want it.
I'll admit, if I could fit 3 gauges in the cluster bezel cleanly, I'd much prefer it over this.

Digital gauges + small readout stolen from a 1991 Akai sampler + fugly rackmount case looking thing = no wonder nobody has one.

^haha, yes it is ugly, but there's not much else out their that avoids having a in-car light up show.
Maybe the defi link with the HUD and hidden gauges but thats lots of $.
    The search continues...

it could be good, i would not put it next to the radio though. it would impossible to read esp when its dark out. maybe replace the clock pod with a din slot.

there is something to be said about a nice stealth gauge pack. esp since my AFR gauge blinds me ever night lol.

    did you see this? http://www.mnsubaru.com/forums/showthread.php?t=10688

^yeah it looks promising but I dunno if I can/should hold out much longer. I hate to do a cheap temp solution but I may have to...

Why do you need a temp soloution? if your not in dire need of gauges it would be worth it to wait and only buy the stuff once.

I agree. Do it right the first time, but I'm overly cautious and low on cash! I would like I temporary solution (boost and egt gauge) bc I plan on going stage 2 with a stealthback soon. Also, I have experienced what seems like boost spiking a handful of times on stock tune (hit a wall at 5k rpm in 3rd, and 4th gear twice... full to half tank of gas. No cels tho). I am hoping it is due mostly to the cold weather but Im definitely staying off the gas until I can do some datalogging (I'm thinking tari for now).

Autometer Gauge Pod for clock pod. Boost Gauge, EGT gauge. Put a 52mm clock in there for good measure. That is what I had before the HKS thing.

^Then Id have to relocate or deaden and tuck the clock behind the dash (unless theres a resistor mod for the airbag light).
I'm thinking bezel cluster with omori oil temp/egt and possibly a steering column pod for a 42mm boost. I bet it'd get pretty cluttered tho.

I'm willing to bet there is still an airbag light on the gauge cluster. It would be stupid to make the clock integral to airbag operation

    lol at dynapar.
The clock airbag is wired to the passenger airbag sensor. The dash airbag light is at least wired to the driver's seat. Yr right tho, it doesnt sound too logical and is probably fairly simple to bypass. I should look into this more...

just remove the pass airbag, put a ps2 there. sell the air bag for $$$ and drop 10 lbs from the car.
