For public sale are a bunch of full size, actual flight simulators from Delta. Probably not something you can put in your basement, but still pretty cool. http://grafeauction.com/auction_det...ebook&utm_medium=ad&utm_campaign=161013+Delta
I was expecting a WRX body shell with a flat screen TV mounted in the windshield and sitting in someone living room...and with no females within 10 miles.
Doesn't look very hard to make, everything's just bolted to a homemade wooden frame, and there's lots of junk Subie interiors on here that I'm sure someone could make one for cheap! ...and unless they're role playing drunkie and cop with that MagLite in the background also.
I've got some WRX seats that i'd let go for super cheap if someone wants to build their own. Is that Drambuie next to the maglight? Lol
Hmm, I like the dash and everything. Maybe I can do some work to get mine to be more immersive. I have been looking at getting a newer wheel setup, but honestly I play a lot of WoW and Star Citizen instead of driving games lately. I am really wanting an open world driving game where you sit in the seat, and it is realistic but fun. I sometimes do 3 monitors, but most the time I stick to my 55" SUHD 4k, and my 40" 1080p. Sometimes I add my other 40" to the mix. I run with an EVGA 1080 FTW vid card. With the racing seat sitting in the middle of the living room and being married, I was lucky she lets me get away with it. I just have to lower the seat back when we watch movies.
I've been building my Project cars setup. Still a work in progress but I should have it sorted out this weekend or next. First project with my new welder.
Based on experience....you might want to rethink having your wheel more-or-less directly connected to the monitors. Any shake will magnify at the outside edge of those triples. I actually have my monitor hanging from a ceiling mount now because I couldn't stand the constant shaking of even a single monitor. Planning for it be on carpet or a solid floor? Even a sturdy frame will move due the carpet padding. Maybe have a monitor frame that fits just outside the front part of the cockpit, but doesn't touch it? That said, this is still one of the reasons I want to learn to weld...looks like a fun project. ...I'm using a R-Seat Evo v3.
Thanks for the input. I've thought about this for sure. Right now I do have more support than shown in the photo as that was just a mock-up of the setup. After testing it out I don't see much wobble at all from the monitors. That may change when I upgrade my wheel. Eazy
