Ok, I'm trying to set the base timing on my Car (link G3 LEM ecu) and everytime I hook up the timing light, i blow the 100Amp fuse that's in the trunk (battery relocation...) I hook the positive to the distribution block in the front, the Negative lead to the Grounding bracket on the back of the motor (by starter) and then the sensor thing to plug wire one. Well when ever I hook everything up, that 100A fuse blows and the car is dead.

So, wtf is going on here? Am I retarded or something? I need to get this figured out ASAP if my car's gonna make it to the ice races.

Some timing lights have a mode or an extra wire or two to connect to the starter relay to turn the engine over. You might have it int he wrong mode or the wrong wires. Or your timing light might be hosed. I'm really surprised that a 100A fuse is blowing before the wires on your timing gun melt though.

this light only has the 3 wires. Positive lead, Negative lead, and then the Lead for the Plug wire. This is the 2nd gun I've tried, cause when it first happened I figured the timing gun was shot. But no, 2 different guns, 2 blown fuses.

Have you tried different ground and positive locations? For a 100A fuse to blow without something melting, it has to be a direct short, and something fairly beefy. Perhaps your distribution block is getting moved by the cables and grounding out to the chassis?

Ok, well, what was happening was then I was hooking up to the distribution block, I was hitting the sheetmetal screws that mount it to the body, so it was shorting out hardcore right there. Problem solved with some strategic Electrical tape.

Now Piddster just needs to get up here and tune it!!!
