Tint Group Buy - Street Scenes

I know there was one done last year, but i never got in and I know we've had new members/new cars since then and was wondering if anyone wants to give it another shot.
My buddy owns the Streets Scenes in Spring Lake Park across from NorthTown and he asked if I'd be interested in getting the group together for tinting. The dates are flexible and don't have to be done on the same date, he could spread it out over a few days to coordinate with peoples' schedules, and in special cases won't mind doing it on another day.

Pricing: For 5 windows (the four side windows and the rear)

5-9 cars = $170 - Regular Sedan / $205 - Wagon

10-14 cars = $160 - Regular Sedan / $195 - Wagon

15+ Cars = $150 - Regular Sedan / $185 - Wagon

$10 off for 2 door suby Coupes.

He wants Subaru only, if you have another make ask me first and I'll try to talk him into it. He's pretty strict on this because certain other models (such as 4th Gen camaros/firebirds) take a lot of time and material and won't apply to the discounting. SO LET ME KNOW WHAT MODEL YOU ARE TINTING IF ITS NOT A SUBY.

Regular pricing is $225 for sedans and $260 for wagons, so this is a pretty hefty discount.

The tint has lifetime warranty and tints from 5% - 50%, the brand is Global Window Films. Other details I'm not so sure of, any questions let me know and I'll find out asap.

Lifetime warranty covers bubbling, cracking, peeling, and fading. You get new product plus labor, no extra fees.

There is a 2 hour Estimated Time to tint. As always, it could definately be shorter/ longer than this due to different makes/models. A tint job "could" be done in 45 minutes, but I'm going to schedule 2 hour time blocks to allow enough time.

i might be interested. how long does tinting a car take? and what's legal for percentages.

if its too soon though, i can't because i really don't have much money right now.

 

I believe you can have any shade of tint on all the windows except the front drivers and passengers...they have to be 50% or lighter, legaly anyways. But if you get the back really dark the front won't look so light.

I'll definately get all these questions answered. I'll see him at work today and get all the info.
He would be the one doing the tinting, not us. You pay for the tint and the service to cut and install it.

The legality is 50% in MN on front windows, that's the one for sure thing that I do know.
As for experience, I'll get a few pics from him to throw up here. At his shop they have a full wall of pictures of cars they've done; ranging from your everyday grocery getters; to M3's, supra's, think i even saw a Porsche on there.

BTW, he used to have a WRX and i'm sure he has plenty pics of that with tint.

Wagons are going to be a little bit more because of the extra windows which is pretty self-explanitory.

yes 50% on all windows except front, you cant have any tint there. SUV'S you can have the windows as dark as you want except for the passenger and drivers windows, it has to be 50% or less. I have 5% on all my windows and a 5% strip on the windshield. I just roll the windows down when I see a cop

 

dang. we just has a group buy on tint for MNAudi. good turn up. prices are WAY diff from here tho. =P good luck tho. my friend owns Street Scenes.m good people. good customer service.

 

I would love to do this!! but chances are pretty good I'm just a handraiser.....that's alot of money that I probably won't have.

 

Wagons can have as dark a tint as they want on the rear windows. I might bring my matrix down to get tinted, I need to check on the date though.

I have 30% all round on mine as far as I know... and never been hassled... so far.. now that I posted this I will see what happens..ha ha ha

again date is pretty open. i want it to be able to work with peoples' schedules. We'll probably donate a 3/4 day weekend for the time, such as a thurs, fri, sat, sun. I'm thinking mid may, but again i'm pretty flexible.

As for the llumar, i'll check with him. I know they carry it, but from what i've heard from others, is that most Lifetime warranted tints are going to be very similar, and since it's lifetime warranty, get it replaced if it goes bad. And the llumar is going to be more expensive that the only thing i know for sure.

(Idget)Dont quote me on this, but I think Mn tint law is 50% all around with no tint on the windshield.

Correct...You can tint your rear windshield as dark as you want...no way of measuring it. Just remember if you have a BLACK car, your tint will seem darker, even though you both got 50%. The lighter the car the less obvious it is...Also considering, if you have a dark interior too, your tint will look darker. I have 35% rear windows and 50% front. See if you can see the difference.

forgot to ask...does anyone have pics of a tint job on a wrx with black interior?

I'd like to know what 50% will look like.....50% on my legacy with grey interior wasn't even noticable....If it doesn't look too dark I'd rather go to 50% front windows, 35% rear.

I have 50% on my 06wrx, the interior is mostly black (with some gray on it)
