Well title basically says it. I currently own a WRB wrx and have been contemplating the idea of getting a tint job. It would proably be at the max legal. I am just curious if any of you other owners out there with a WRB WRX got a pic of your car with a tint job so that I could see it before I do it. I just wanna get an idea of what it looks like. I have herd many mixed reviews but have never sen an actualy picture of a car with it done

Hre are a couple of pics, but there is alot of glare, so it is a little tough to see. This is 35% all around (I think legal is 50%), and I haven't had any trouble.

Russ, is your windshield tinted also? Where'd you get it done at? In my personal opinion, the main reason I don't have my car tinted is that it attracts theives and maybe even vandalism. Other than that, I love the way tinted windows looks on any looks fast/go fast car. :I

Nope. I just a limo tint band accross the top. The rest of the tinted windows makes things a bit darker so it looks like the windshield is tinted. The bigest thing I noticed by installing the tint is the car is so much cooler in the sun. It used toget so hot inside the car when it was parked in the sun, but it is a quite a bit cooler. The guy that did the tint was fron shaded images (I think that is his comapny name), but basically we did 3 car at once and got a killer deal on it.

We had 3 cars done at the same time, and I think we got it for $180 a car. I might be way off, I guess I would have to look through my reciepts. Its not the best tint job ever, but for the price I can live with it.

I would think that a really light mirror tint with a hint of blue in it would look nice. I've seen silver Rex's with a light silver mirror all around and it looked verrrry nice. Not RICE, nice.

When I was looking around for getting tint on my car, someone on NASIOC had posted that I should check Ziebart. They had the best prices and I'm very happy with the installation. Call whichever one is closest to you.

I had them do my truck and it was a real good job. I was going to have my car done there, then we ran accross this deal.

I've got one step darker than legal, 35%?

I've been stopped once. Got a ticket for no front plate, he gave me a verbal warning on the tint.

I'll see if I can get a pic or two...

I think legal is 50% but whatever pics you got would be well appreciated. Just wanna get a good visualization of what my car is gonna look like before I blow 200 dollars and am dis-appointed.

Legal is less than 50 legal on pass cars is like 75%

However!! I did 35 on my front windows and 22 on my back and rear window, car looks very nice and I have never had a problem with oinkers. I got mine done for like 200 from P&L Automotive in Edina.
Also while your there if your car is new for like 120 bucks get the 3M rockgauard. It is a clear film taht they put on the front part of your hood I have seen WRX's with like 20K and the S*^$ chipped out of the hood. For 120 bucks it rocks, you can't even see it. The only time when you can see it is after you Wax your car you get a small white line but that goes away with one quick wipe..

$180 ea for 3 cars? Man, I wish I was still tinting...you got raped. You can go to Ziebart and get it done for that (one car) and the job will be near perfect (if not, you make them redo it). I would typically charge ~$150 for a 5 window car when I was doing side jobs.

Is the metallic tint more $? I'm going to get a really light metallic green tint done at Ziebart I think. Since I hear they're good.

Chin, have you check prices lately?? When I called Zeibart it was about $290 a car to do the same thing I had sone. Zeibart wants $45 just to do the windshield banner.

Exactly, thats why $180 with the windsheild banner is a pretty good deal.

****! They must've jacked thier prices, the Ziebart up near Blaine did mine for ~$180 with a 5 year warantee. Rear 22%, front 35%. That was October last year.

If you go with the lifetime warranty (supposedly non fade) tint, the price went through the roof. My car has been tinted for 2 of the 3 years I have owned my car.

Yes, it has been 6-9mo since I checked, but one thing I forgot is that they introduced a new tint some time ago and that may have raised the prices. A 100' roll runs about $125 so they are just raising prices because they can, not because the tint is much more expensive. BTW, the 5yr tint, typically, is the same as the lifetime, but the warranty is obviously different. I don't know if that is true with the newer tint, but as long as you don't get the 2yr you should not see a difference. I have had all of my cars tinted since I was 16 (15 years now!) and I have never had anything bubble or peel, even the cheaper stuff (never used the 2yr). Like I said, I wish I still had the time to tint as it looks lilke I could do quite a few fellow owners...

Well here is my lifetime warrantee tint from Zeibart, I had the Lifetime on my '91 Saturn SC2, came back in '99 and told them my tint is fuzzy, 4 hours later all 5 windows were redone in brand new tint. I'm fine with the higher price :)

50% or less. Windows already have a 85-90% tint in them from the factory.

Hello all, Im new here and just wanted to throw my 2 cents in on tint. I have 20 in back and 30 on the sides and a strip of limo tint on the front. I got mine done for 200 from a guy in White Bear, he does an excellent job. He tints all the fire department vehicles in Oakdale. Anyway, I have been pulled over once and the cop didn't say anything about it, I think alot has to do with how much of an a** the cop wants to be. If you are thinking of getting anything darker than factory you may as well go all the way, your still going to get pulled over weather you have 30% or 5%. Another tip, don't waste your money on getting 50%, I've seen 50 done and it is so small of a change you can hardly tell there is tint on the window.
