Hey guys quick question here, does getting a ticket for having tinted windows come up on your driving record as a minor moving violation? My insurance renewal showed an increased from a minor moving violation and the only ticket I ever got was from my tinted windows. Thanks!
NO! it is an equiptment violation. however i believe that enough of them and it turns a little worse. IIRC However it seems that if the only ticket you ever got was that and it showed on insurace then your insurance company might consider that a minor offence?? I dunno that what it seems like to me. I've gotten probably around 5 or 6 tint tickets through different vehicles and never saw an increase in insurance. but $600+ for tint tickets suckd!
I've never seen a tint ticket on DPS's drivers record. I believe this is what insurance companies get.
I collected about 6 of them with my old car. They'd always wait to get me as I was leaving work in Maple Grove. Always stopped for the tint, nothing else. I've only ever had one speeding ticket for going 42 in a 35 but that was almost 8 years prior to the tint tickets. Never saw my insurance rates go up from the tint tickets.
have your insurance company audit your account, that doesn't seem right. I've had 4 tint tickets in the past year....although all but one was dismissed by court. And it's an equipment violation
