since i put 18's on my car my tires rub pretty bad around hard turns, im getting eibach prokit springs pretty soon and i know its gonna lower my car about and inch. Do your think im still gonna have trouble with rubbing now that ill have stiffer springs?

Worse-especially the rears. Mr. Tony (2.5RS_Freek) was in the same situation when he installed 225/40-18 tires on his 18" wheels. He had intrax lowering springs. I had Eibach springs/KYB GR2 struts for my old RS and it rubbed on moderate turns. I had 225/50-16 tires at the time.

are your tires rubbing in the sidewall-to-fender area or the tire-to-wheelwell area? I'm also assuming that it is just a problem in the rear

snicker.......snicker.... you've got a problem with rubbing in your rear   oklay thats out of my system now

you will either need spacers to offeset the wheel more so it wont rub when you turn, or else you will need smaller wheels so that the fender isnt cutting through your tires like happened to chux.

i tink that if you are rubbing now w/ 18's if you drop it another inch you will have serious issues like majorly redueced turning and just plain old reaking havoc on the rubber.

Firstly and for once I agree with Evan. :p Well, part of it. Stiff coilovers can allow you to adjust your ride height yet keep the ride very stiff to prevent the fender from rubbing your tires.

Secondly, you can invest a couple hundred $$$ and get a fender roller.

Lastly if those above can't get done but you alread have the wheels, get tires no larger than 215/40-18. I don't even know if a size exisits and this number I pulled out of my *ss to get you an idea.

i bet if your tires were 195/10-18 you wouldnt have any issuea, but then you wouldnt have much for tires either

Yup. Coilovers. The only thing saving me right now is Fong's old stock RS springs. Before that, I was tearing up my tires and fenders pretty bad. I'm getting coilovers ASAP. As long as you aren't looking for a perfectly comfortable ride, you'll appreciate the flexibility coilovers give you. BTW, thanks again Fong for all your help. :D

on my 96 I just used a block of wood and angle grinder and waalaa no more fenders sticking into my tires, okay the downside, I have to paint the fenders where I butchered them and it is starting to rust cause I am not a bodymanbut it did work quite well, but mine rubbed cause my offset was too far out, and it still rubs from time to time in the upper fenderwell but that is just when i corner too fast with a fat man in the car aka most of my friends

but he just had to have those da*n rims says the g/f

enkei RSV's i think there 18x7.5 to be honest i dont really care if my car is lowered cuz im used to driving SUVs and i already feel like i dont have enuf ground clearance, so do they make stiffer springs that wont lower my car?

42mm offset?! That's a no-no to your wheel bearing lives... but that's another story/issue in itself. Maybe I'm wrong.

That's a first for me. If you don't mind me asking, what's your setup?

I am pretty sure that I have +48 offset so that is probably why I have no rubbing... Linea Limix's(my rims) are basically made for Subaru's

and ya know what I believe they changed the offset from 96 till now too so we probably are comparing apples to spanner wrenches
