Is there any chance that storing a bunch (16) tires in my basement is dangerous? I got to be thinking maybe its really not a good idea. Its a 20' x 30' room and the furnace and hot water heater are on the opposite side of the same room. Should I have any concerns?

I have a rack made sitting on the side in my garage for my street and winter tires. Then all my R comps are stacked in the basement right outside my furnace and water boiler room.

I wouldn't be as concerned about them causing a fire as much as if I had to get in there should there be a fire. If they're expensive tires put them in large garbage bags and only stack four high. You don't the tires drying out from the expanding and contracting of air.
    Good luck.
