for those of you that read and posted on the for sale thread of mayhem83s sti struts for sale, we have got the situation resolved. called the dealer on it seems how they never told me it had wrx suspenstion in it, i told them i wasn't a happy camper and that somthing needs to be done to fix the situation. as i told them this, i sent them an email of the for sale thread and the pms that mayhem83 and i had to prove that this is all legit. well needless to say, they felt cheated also. they told me they would get to the bottem of it and call me back. before i had called the dealer, mayhem83 and i had sent pms to each other and i had posted on that thread of deals and ways we could work this out. i even offerd him two sets of wrx suspenstion for his sti suspenstion that was suppose to be on the car but he told me he needed the money and not the parts. thats when i called the dealer. well when the dealer called me back he had told me that he had the gm call up mayhem83 and he was going to bring in the suspenstion for me to pick up. so all in all, will have a real sti now and want no hard fellings between mayhem83 and i. mayhem83 seems like a very nice guy and cares a lot about the people on this site.

well it sucked that it took the dealer to get them. i will post what happend and give you back the wrx suspenstion thats on the car. if we wouldn't have had to bring the dealer into it i would have given u the two sets but it seemed you didn't want to give me the time of day so i will keep mine. and that is what you would of had if you would of switched in the first place. now i have to put my time in to switching the two and then bringing it somewhere to have it aligned. i will have the wrx suspenstion with me when i pick up the sti stuff. didn't want to make anyone look bad and hope you see it through my eyes and know where im coming from. no grudge here.

I am glad this is getting resolved. I am not particularly happy with the result but I will live with the resolution. As to me not giving fobiawrx the time of day, nothing could be further from the truth. I gave him my cell phone number twice via PM and asked him to call me so we could discuss the issue. fobiawrx is the one that chose to get the dealer involved, not me. I wanted to talk this out.

I'm not bashing, just offering facts.

Buyer beware when it comes to used cars, especially when you don't get the chance to talk to the original owner.

Well, considering he bought the car from the dealer, not Mark. I think he did the right thing. Personally, I would have just left Mark out of it and dealt directly with the dealer. Whether anyone's happy about it or not.

If I bought an STi, I'd expect it all to be STi. As i'm sure all of you would and especially the dealer who bought it as such. If you came to realise that is not the case, you need to go to the person/place you bought it from. No ifs ands or buts about it IMO.

Matt bought an STi

 

The issue here is if someone sold someone something that they knew was not genuine but said that it was. It boils down to the person that installed WRX suspension into the STi and sold it saying that it is a whole package. The dealer wouldn't be at fault if they were lied to from the beginning, but they would be at fault if they knew it and tried to sell it as the whole package. I don't know the whole story but the truth is all that matters.

 

Well maybe. I think Mark tried to get one over on the dealer. I doubt any dealership would take in a car with a downgraded suspension and sell it as such. I doubt anyone with a right mind trying to get max trade in value would admit to this either. Maybe Mark did. I'm willing to bet not.

But, its not Matt's responsability to go after Mark. Its the dealership that he bought it from. Either they can give him what they sold him, either by dealing with Mark themselves or in other legal ways. Or Matt could have returned the car or dealt with it in another legal matter.

Either way, Mark or the Dealership tried to pull a fast one and either fortunately(for Matt) or unfortunately(for Mark). Got caught. I really don't think Matt should be the one to go after him jumping through hoops for the dealership not checking the car to be on the up and up. Its the dealerships fault for selling him a car that is not what they say. It should be the dealership to resolve the problem and make the customer happy.

The dealership did the business with Mark and Matt seperately. IMO, its the dealerships problem to resolve.

I don't blame Matt or Mark, unless he lied to the dealership. But then it was more a case of bad luck of it happening to be sold to a fellow member. Matt bought an STi and expected it to be as such. The dealership did the same unless Mark told them and willingly took a cut in the trade-in price(IMO I doubt it). Dealerships are shady and so are other people. But, take it up with who you do business with. Don't get caught up and be a third party.

just to clear up. mayhem you r right by what you said by giving me your phone number to resolve it. what i ment by the dident give me the time of day was when i offered to resolve the issue first with you, you told me that you dont want the wrx stuff, u wanted money. period. and if i had any q's about the car to call you. witch was cool of u to do. but as far as getting the sti stuff, i wasent geting anything unless i gave you money. end of story. thats when i went to the dealer. like i said, no hard feelings. and if it were any of you out there, you would of done the same.
