I'm new to this Subaru thing and am looking to buy a 1995 legacy sdn., AWD w/ auto tranny and 120K miles. Seems to pull to the right but I'm more concerned with the wet spot that might be dripping onto the hot cat. converter. Not sure how this drive system is laid out: is there no center diff/transfer case? How is power sent forward? Is it like a trans axle w/ a rear output for the rear drive shaft? What might be dripping onto the cat? Tranny seal? Runs good drives good, except for the pulling (alignment I guess?), and is really rust free, a rariety for Pa. Any help would be appreciated by this newbie.

    Thanks

what could be dripping may be a rear cam 0-ring. its about a 5 minute job. other then that, if its a 2.2 you dont really need to look for anything, other then oil leaks they are pretty much bullet proof. however, if its a 2.5 look for oil in the coolent, or just a general exhaust smell in the overflow bottle. dohc 2.5s are notorious for blowing head gaskets internally. As for the pulling, it could just need an alignment, or the tire could be low! the drivetrain is layed out symetrically , it has a front dif, and a center dif, rear dif, autos are a tad different then manuals, autos the power split is 70 front, 30 rear, manuals are 50/50 sounds like an OK car, how much are they looking to get?
