I don't know what pansey crap Shakspeare was talking about but in my book it all falls on the DP. So I'm considering a DP. Now, is it worth it if I keep the factory catback? What are the benefits? What are the drawbacks?

    Et tu' Brute... whatever?!

just saying... people start threads and more threads when they are discussing the same stuff in another... it gets ridiculous... and makes people like myself not type or offer advice...

Yes, its worth it to just get a dp if that is what your asking.

A catless or hi-flo dp is better than your stock dp

You'll get a quicker spool for sure

If you keep your catback, you really won't notice that much difference. Get the DP now, then go for the catback later on.

you could have found that by searching too ;)

IMO, a downpipe nets the most HP out of any single mod, excluding a turbo swap. Go 3" catless, bellmouth and you're good.

When I had my '02 WRX I ran a 13.9 with only a Downpipe, everything else stock.

simple way to answer your questioning, yes. do it, exhaust is always better than nothing, and stock is a joke compared to the aftermarket offerings.

It's bad. Terribly bad. I have had mine since October and it still gets to me.

I wish I wouldn't have been so frugal and helped save some trees.

thanks... Yeah on the WRX I had a high flow cat and I always wondered how the no cat DP was. I'm getting a high flow for sure. The wife won't be able to tell if it doens't stink like gas.
