Actually, I recall a study being done that claimed over the top was better to control as you can pull both out and down. Jay Leno even referenced it on one of his shows. I'm not sure if that is a good or bad thing...

i prefer under - it's more aesthetically pleasing imo. i find both about equivalent in functionality
