getting my Timing belt, water pump, tensioner, thermostat, etc...done while home on leave. koby chillin howling at the camera
for everyones knowledge, the project took us 5 hours, and was very easy. If anyone needs help being walked through a timing belt/anything of the other stuff on a 2.0t rex motor, I feel pretty confident that either myself, martin (dynapar), or tom (snowbum) have the experience to give you mid-project advice, etc. I think we could bust out the timing belt in a LOT less time now after learning a few small tricks on this job too. I'd guess 2.5-3 hours, without screwing around, and all the proper tools.
good pictures! I was very surprised at how easy this actually was. This was the first time I had done a timing belt on a DOHC interference motor. I think it helped that it was a gorgeous day outside and we were not locked in a dungeon of a garage. either way I am very happy that it runs perfectly and made it all the way to Cali without a problem.
Yay!! I've been waiting for these pictures! I think i have some from that day too, i dont know how appropriate they are , but i will post a few when i get home.
YES, I noticed this a while ago and didn't recognize him. I thought someone else bought his car.
