X-tremely Cool Cars come to the Twin Cities.

Fresh from their recent appearance in front of a global television audience as part of the 2008 X Games, the cars and stars of the Rally America professional national rally championship are amassing on the Nicollet Mall in downtown Minneapolis and Morrie’s Subaru in Minnetonka this Wednesday.

You can meet many of the drivers that competed in X Games 14 and see the cars belonging to Rally America’s current and rising stars.

    Featured vehicles:
Tanner Foust’s Rockstar Open Class WRX-STI
Andrew Pinker’s Rockstar Open Class WRX-STI
Jeff Moyle’s Aaron’s Open Class WRX-STI (The late Colin McRae’s vehicle at
    X Games 12,13)
    Kyle Sarasin’s CPD2
Andrew Comrie Picard’s Open Class Mitsubishi Evo
Cowboy Kenny Bartram’s Open Class GC8 WRX
TBD Subaru Rally Team USA 2008 Open Class WRX STI
    Mark Utecht’s Ford Mustang

Get up close and personal with the cars just days before they head north to battle the logging roads around Bemidji in the Ojibwe Forests Rally on August 22-23. Have your photo taken, get autographs and enjoy the amped-up ambiance provided by some of the world's most talented extreme athletes and their rides.

    WHEN: Wednesday, August 20, 2008

I asked in the other thread, and I'll ask here too...

Is there any chance that any cars will be staying after the 4:30 end time? I work till 5 and tonka is right on my way home! In past years, have some cars stuck around later?

She lives in Duluth, kinda not worth it IMO. The drive to the rally would be closer and more fun.

I can see 2 08 Sti's and an older RS right now from the 29th floor at my desk. Red and Blue STi so far lined up, and the street is closed off.

I headed down to Nicolette this afternoon, pretty sweet (Got my pic with Pinker and Durant) I talked with one of the guys who worked with PR for the Rally. He mentioned that the X-Games was really hard on the cars so a lot didn't make it to the event. I specifically asked if Pastrana was gonna be at the Morries event and he said he wouldn't, and that he was gonna make it to Bemidji just in time for registration tomorrow.

So I wouldn't count on any more cars being at tonka

Sweet! It was fun and yeah there were four cars but, the guys were fun to talk too. They were super nice and they had some good stories. It sure seems like these guys put alot into it to do what they do. They put in some long hours on race day with very little sleep. Oh, yeah I got "the cowboy" and Pinker to autograph the inside of my trunk. Pinker said that my white color Subaru is the best he's seen. which is good because my stock wrx motor is nothing to talk about compared to any of the other cars there
