I'm goin to take that back window sticker off tonight as well as debadge the back to clean things up a little. Other than that, she's gunna stay stock till I can find a nice deal on an adjustable rsb and exhaust.

We just debadged my buddies wrx. He's got a nice heat gun and we just used gasoline to get the sticky crap off. Went pretty smoothly.

If you're going to leave it stock just find a used 20mm(free to~$50) and call it good. iirc they came on wrx sedans, I'm sure someone will clarify this if I'm wrong.

It's good to see another GC. I still remember the feeling when I first drove my GC home. I'll never my GC go.

^hes talking about a 20mm rear sway bar that comes from the wrx sedan. Lots of guys with wrxs upgrade because the wrx weighs more. The 20mm that comes out of the wrx is a solid upgrade, and can be had, like he said, for between free and 50 bucks.

Yea, I'll keep an eye out. I'm not dead set of getting an adjustable rsb, I just dont plan on spending a good chunk of money unless it is. If/When I swap it, I'll have to replace the front and I'd be nice to just adjust the rear instead of having to buy a new one. But yea, if somebody wants to sell me their wrx rsb for $50 I'd gladly take it off their hands :)

p.s. some may argue that because the wrx/sti rsb must be bolted in on the outside of the endlinks that they are possibly not as efficient as a 20mm rsb meant for the rs. Any thoughts on this?

I don't think anyone argues that it less efficient rather that it doesn't fit properly. If one uses the stock endlinks(maybe even some aftermarket ones) it interferes with the bar and rubs and iirc bends the stock endlinks slightly.

I think that's only the STi rear sway that fits on the outside - and yes it would lower its effectiveness. I believe the wrx one fits the same way as the RS, though. Also, I have a RSB on an 03 WRX I'd sell for $50, but I'll have to check if its 20mm or not - sometime mid year they switched to 17mm or something, so yeah - gotta measure it. PM if you're even interested.

My car will look exactly like that when I finish. Minus the 98 front bumper, add a 99 black front bumper. Nice:biggrin:

EXCELLENT looking car! I love the unicorns.

As for the RSB. The deal with those is that 02 WRX sedans came with 20mm rear sway bars. So all 02+ WRX Wagons and 03+ WRX Sedans have 17mm RSBs. The 02 WRX sedans were the only ones to come with a 20mm RSB. It is a direct bolt in, the WRX one will fit just like stock. IIRC the STi RSB is different and will not bolt up like stock but still should kind of fit.

The stock RSB on a RS is like 13mm so even the 17mm is an improvement but the 20mm is very nice to have. I have one and I like it alot! one of the best suspension mods to do.

keep us posted on how your car is going. pictures are also good.

^Yea the sti rsb fits on the outside of the endlinks and causes them to hang at an outward angle causing them to have excess stress and often snapping. So, I think I'll stick with the 20mm wrx rsb. If I'm going to do an upgrade I'm gunna do it right the first time aka no 17mm. The rs fronts are 19mm and the rears are 13mm.

Again, lmk if you know somebody that could lend me a hand painting a new bumper. That or an exhaust is probably the next thing up on my list (after a rsb).

I have a 22mm Unknown brand adjustable (meaning it has two holes) red sway bar. sitting in my basement. I will assume you live somewhere in near minneapolis, so you will have to wait till I/someone I know comes through. If you meet them somewhere and want it it's yours for whatever you feel like giving them. And yes, it's for you model car..

Yea, I'm gunna go with a rsb, then new front bumper/exhaust. I'm keepin my eye open for a good deal on an exhaust as well as a newer front bumper.
