So road and track just had a cool section where all their writers chose their top 5 most loved cars ever... this means ever new all the way back to the beginning. Plus I'm bored at work and want to see what people think. Please post years and models seeing that it makes a big difference sometimes.
So here is mine though it will most likely change when I remember some other cars lol Mk. IV ford gt40 Escort cosworth rs Rs200 evolution Lotus omega Aston martin DBS (newest body)
Mine was my '85 Delta 88... The trunk was so big I could fit 10-15 dead hookers in it... at one point I fliped the passanger seat around so it was more cozzy when we rolled around BP and did what kids from BP did. we ripped the vinyl off the top and taged it up... Man I was dumb back then... But I still loved that car... I bet I could go up to the cabin and get it running with in an hour... It hasn't moved in 10+ years
1. 85-87 Corolla GTS(AE86) 2. EVO 6 3. R34 Skyline GTR 4. 70" Chevelle SS 5. RX-7 (FD3S) Kind of a weird mix, I know. But I may make some changes after I give some more thought. For some reason I' be always liked cars that I felt were "attainable" for the most part.
The mix is awesome the best part is figuring why people pick the cars they do.... memories, looks, speed, exclusivity, whatever it may be
ttiwwop n00bs! 1) 2003 Porsche 911 turbo... plan to keep mine foreva eva... been wanting one since they came out. The practicality of a daily drivable low maintenance supercar really appealed to me. 2) Slope nose 930 turbo... this was my first and favorite die cast model as a little kid 3) 959... because racecar 4) f40... well, come on! 5) Any year Supra. Had a mkiii, looking at picking up an mkiv still... but waiting for people to forget fnf still. My 87... the one that started everything for me 14 years ago
67 chevelle SS v12 vantage zondas.... all of them 65 gto 66 corvette 427 (dads had it for 29 years, lots of memorys in it)
^Fo eva eva!?...you're still slow!!hahaha -1964 Chevy Impala -1970 Cuda -Ferrari F40...i think that i had about 10 of these!"matchbox cars"lol -WRC 98 Subaru RS...the day i fell in love with Subarus -Ferrari 355 Spyder
foeva eva, Ms. Jackson. Do with wish you were a little bit taller? Wish you were a baller? Wish you had a girl who looked good, you would call her? Wish you had a rabbit in a hat with a bat and a 64 impala?
I couldn't come up with a top 5 ever list. Off the top o my head theses are the 5 I looked up pictures for. Things change but today these are on my lottery daydream sorta list. 1. 87 Grand National GNX 2. some sorta GT3RS this limited 4.0 is neat 3. 427 Cobra 4. Blown 32 Ford 5. Morgan Aero SS
1. Lambo Diablo (boyhood dream) 2. Ford GT (love the styling, and a great track car) 3. Eleanor (definitive classic Mustang) 4. Lancia Stratos (crazy fast rally action) 5. Ford Raptor (to fulfill the inner redneck)
Not easy, but I think my list goes as follows Lamborghini Silhouette 959 5th Gen Celica GT4 RC/CS Sierra RS500 Cosworth Jag E-type
1. AE86 Corolla 2. 22B Impreza 3. Toyota Celica 1st gen. 4. Toyota Levin KE35R 5. Ford Fiesta mk6, got to drive one at LSPR this last year, loved it.
1) 1970 Challenger 2) 04-05 STI 3)EVO 8 4) Foxbody Mustange (I dunno why, just like em..) 5) 93' Lambo Diablo
Are those Cosworths also called Merkurs? On an old forum I was on along time ago I remember the one guy had a limish pea green "Merkur" that looked just like that.. I remember something about him sayin he had volvo heads on it too?
Id imagine rarity has something to do with it being that only 500 were made in one year. The escort cosworth is rare too, but nowhere near that exclusive.
Merkur XR4ti's are the US equivalant of the mid-range Ford Sierra in Europe. The sierra front bumper will bolt right onto a Merkur. They came with a straight 4 turbo (2.4l IIRC). Amazingly strong little motor also seen in the mustang SVO and turbo tbird of the same vintage (mid '80s). I don't know of them ever used in a Volvo..... Rarity, yes. But mostly I like the looks more, and RWD....
I was discussing this with a buddy and I thought it would be an interesting thread. If you could pick any three cars to own, what would they be and why? Doesn't matter if you can afford them or not. 1. Nissan GTR...most bang for your buck. 2. Aston Martin Rapide (the new 4-door)...got to have a car for ballin' out in style! Plus Aston's are pretty rare, especially in these parts.(A close second in the category would be the Mercedes CLS 65 AMG. Very nice interior and exceptionally quick). 3. Dodge Cummins Diesel with a trailer setup to haul the GTR to the track adding my two extras... 4. Ferrari 599XX...I love Ferrari's and this is one of most bad ass Ferrari's ever made! 5. Late 70's Toyota Celica GT 5 Speed...my parents had two of these back in the day, and was the first "sports car" that I ever rode in and still very near and dear to my heart. This was also back when Celica's were RWD, were very rare, and used to be cool
1. S1/2 Lotus Europa, a real drivers car, quirky, designed to go fast and flat around corners at whatever speed you dare. 2. Lotus Exige S (the new one), ridiculously fun track car, pure bred just for fun and speed around corners. 3.McLaren MP4-12C, because its civil and you could drive it across the country, then destroy whatever on the track. Hmmm, it appears I want a track car... a British one. I'll add two more then... 4.Toyota Supra MK4, because I too have a hard on for them, always have, always will. 5. Pagani Zonda or a Gumpert Apollo, idk which really at this point
Haha thanks, while I was making the thread, I had a feeling that a thread already was probably already created somewhere haha. Now I can add two more
