Topgear has a new episode with Captain Slow riding along with Ken at his airport play ground. http://m.youtube.com/watch?desktop_uri=/watch?v=4RQ4wX8CGbM&v=4RQ4wX8CGbM Amy p.s. I found it on Special Stage
i think in the top gear vid he is using the stage rally car, not the gymkhana car featured in the latest "infomercial"
Just watched the whole episode a couple hours ago. It was a pretty good one. The Ken block part was good but kind of short. I love the look on James May's face when they are airborne. Also that is correct they they are different cars. Rally car has 300ish HP the Gymkhana car has 500ish HP. I am curious which one has more Tq though ;-)
Correct me if I'm wrong, the WRC requires a 32mm turbo restrictor limiting the engine to around 300 hp. Rally america requires a 34mm restricter. That was one of Block's rally cars, but it had the wrc numbers on it, not the rally america. If that's the car he uses for wrc, he would be limited to around 300hp (with the 32mm restrictor), but it's not wrc, so can you get 380 out of a 34mm restrictor or does he not have the restrictor in there? Or an I just talking out of my butt?
I want James May's job. Actually, I'll take Richard Hammond's job so I can work with May and Clarkson.
can someone explain to me how to watch this on TV ? ? I have my DVR set to record new and old Top Gear and the newest one I have is for March of 09' is this not on TV anymore?? or not on BBC??
BBC america doesnt show the new top gear episodes for several months after the original airing. I gave up a long time ago and just started downloading from finalgear.com. They usually have the episodes ready to DL about an hour after they air in the UK.
It is not available to air in America (or outside the UK, for that matter). The BBC is funded by the general public in the UK and citizens are required to pay the 150 pound TV fee in order to have a TV in their house. Due to this, they have licensing restrictions on where their programs can air. The internet, however, has everything .
Okay, so I figured this out. (maybe) They wanted to use the new shape impreza, and his new gymkhana car wasn't ready when they filmed this segment. It might have the "WRC" sticker package because maybe that's similar to what NASA runs?
Can someone fix the title of this thread already? Its really starting to get to me. Also - I thought this segment was cool and all, but could definitely have been longer, more of an interview instead of spending 22 minutes with their "star in a reasonably priced car"
it's very easy to change stickers. I'm guessing the last event he ran prior to shooting this was Baie-des-Chaleurs, which is a CARS event and uses numbering like WRC events (although i believe he had #3 at that event - not hard to add a 4 though). the gymkhana car would not be able to do the dirt section, especially the jump. i'm fairly certain this is the rally car
But this weeks SIARPC was brilliantly funny. Although, I must admit, May's commentary during the airport run was funny, too; "Watch out for that plane!", "Watch out for that pole!", "Door!" etc. It pisses me off that I get BBC2 via satellite, but it craps out at night when the sun goes down. Bloody stupid satellite footprint. So even *I* have to wait until FinalGear posts it for download Stuart.
it was pretty short. but they did say that he'd be at they're test track later this season.......so there might be a real-live interview then. also, yes. IMHO one of the best SIARPCs they've had. I usually skip over that, but not this time.
