I will be upgrading my stock struts to kyb agx's shortly. Car has 68k on it. Necessary or recommended to replace tophats at that time?

^^It is a sweet combo, I've done a couple installations with that exact same set-up. I say group n IF you are going to start driving your car hard. If not, get some cheap stock replacements.

personally, I don't like to see the stock strut mount flex like crazy under slight pressure. (I can demostrate if needed) When i replace my set-up again I'm going with group n for sure...but then again, rick you know I drive a lot harder than you.

^^ You do drive alot harder than I do...so why replace mine now. Whats the life expectancy on these things?

check the rubber seats both top and bottom of the strut...see how worn they are...they aren't that expensive to replace...

I did AGXs and pinks on may car last fall (140k-ish) my strut tops are uber cracked and flexy now. I would say as long as your doing it and can afford it go with group Ns

I'll chime in, too: As long as you are already taking apart the strut/spring, you might as well upgrade to Group N if you've got the cash. Especially if you're not the type to randomly take apart a strut setup (like me.) Once you get the Group N, KYB, Prodrive combo on, you'll be good for quite awhile before you need to think about taking them all off, again.

Besides, Group N's is one of those 'little things' that make a suspension so much better than a similar thing with the stock mounts. I know from experience.

FYI, sometime this week (just need to find some Super Blue) I'll be swapping my suspension out for my own upgraded suspension (now with SS Brakelines). I could use an extra set of jackstands and some company.
