no, they're gone keep doing the 92x, they're dropping some crossover vehicle project.

How long till we see a Toyobaru? Subayota? Anyway, AWD + hybrid would be cool.

A coworker brought this to my attention yesterday. I'm sure that section of business is extremely profitable but it just goes to show you how much GM is sucking right now. The American car companies are all in deep $hit.

Toyota owns an 8% stake in Subaru. They don't own, or dictate the operations of FHI's Subaru division. Just as GM didn't. Their influence in FHI allowed them to produce Saabarus, but it did not dictate Subaru's operations. And GM had a 20% stake. I seriously doubt you are going to see some crazy collaboration between the two...possibly hybrid technology sharing and other tech-sharing partnerships, but you wont be seeing flat four Corollas or Subaru-Drivetrain hachi-rokus or any such nonsense like that.

GM will be bankrupt in four years.

They do have some neat cars in the pipeline. My best friend is an engineer there and he's told me what's coming. Alas, when asked if the new cars are better than those from Toyota or Honda (market sales leaders), he still says no.

But he says the Solstice with the 250 hp turbo is fun to drive!

Since Toyota has an average buyer age of 50+ (geezer Buick age) they probably need some enthusiasm from Subaru to boost their sales. Hopefully it means our cars will be even more reliable (read: able to withstand more clutch drops!).

I was in chicago on mon and tues for subie training, and here's the deal... Toyota now owns 7-8% of FHI and not just subaru. Like the MIX said, they will really have no say in what can/cant be done with FHI, but just share $$$$interests. GM sold off all of there shares(20 million some) and some are still available to be purchased. FHI was talking about buying back some...but no official words on that yet.
