Having a strange issue with my TPMS, curious if anyone has seen this.

    Winter tires currently on.
Blizzaks built in 2019 so ~7 years old, assuming the TPMS are that old too.
    All have TPMS
Kenwood head unit reads the TPMS through the OBDII port.

Have all of them copied from the ECU using an autel TS508WF

The driver side rear keeps popping up as no signal.
When I scan and re-read with the autel it reads totally fine and resets but then after driving for 15 min the TPMS light comes back on.

I'm thinking the battery is on its way out and it's sending intermittent signal?

Are you holding the Autel down by the sensor in the wheel when you are reading it? I assume the antenna that feeds the signals to the Kenwood is in the device that plugs into the OBD port? Or is it inside the head unit itself? I will bet the battery is borderline and the Autel can read the signal since it is a lot closer to the TPMS sensor than the antenna that reads the signal for the Kenwood.

That is a really great point that I didn’t think of. The autel is right next to the TPMs so obviously it reads. The signal is gathered by the body integrated unit in the hatch though… and that’s the closest wheel to it…
