This is my buddies Exige S that he is turning into quite a competent track car. You'll be able to see this thing in action next year at the findtheline events...I can't wait. When he told me what the new spring rates in the rear were...I had to ask a second time. :0 http://www.elisetalk.com/forums/showthread.php?p=842271#post842271
oh, he also suspects that in weight reduction he'll save about 150 lbs or more. Engine is off getting worked on, but will be putting down good numbers for a car double it's size. I know some of you have seen the red GT3 at some of the track events around here...but this car bested the GT3's time at Brainerd this season (just barely)...I can only imagine what it'll do next year.
I'm not a track junkie, and I love those things! Maybe it's the welder in me, but in the following picture, the first thing I noticed was the bubble gum welds in the background. Hope those aren't structural!
I am not sure I like this at all. You pretty much just showed something that's already bad and now its even worst. Worst in that now I'll definately have to get bigger wider tires and a hidden bottle of juice. On top of that lose some major weight, I ment on the car. I am hoping the driver doesnt know how to drive; not likely. LOL
unfortunately he's a pretty good driver. He's looking for about 340 hp at the wheels on the engine in a roughly 1800 lb car. Spooky to say the least. We don't even try to keep up with this car at the track...just watch him as he passes us a few times per session. He's taking the passenger seat out next year...even so, I don't think I'd ever want a ride in that thing.
Okay, sorry but I cant stop talking about the Arial Atom, because what you just described reminds of exactly that and more. I'm trying to think where the Subaru AWD 450whp could have a chance...............I can't think of any right now. I was fortunate enough to drive a friends at DCTC, never got it loose or near its potential on that track, but thats just to say its that good. Those pictures have too much eye candy. So what club events does this owner participate in?
Trackpedia, Porsche club and findtheline events. I think he did a slowpokes event last year as well. He does about 10 events a year. I've been looking at exige's as well...but this thing is already insane...next year it will be just downright crazy.
Yeah, everytime I see this car I nearly do the same. I walked into his garage the other night to basically what you're seeing in the pics...kind of looks like the formula SAE car that I worked on in college ...well, this one is a heck of a lot nicer.
