Just traded my 2001 GPW S2000 and my 2008 Subaru STi for a 2009 Corvette Z06! I am very happy with the trade. I apologize for the pics - will take better ones with a real camera of the Z later. My new 09 Z06 runs excellent and I absolutely love it! Car can be tame when I want, is very comfortable and suspension rides smooth but planted. Obivously it can become a beast when you put your foot down. I thought my supercharged S2k was fast.... This is much faster. Low end might be comparable but this keeps going and just shoves you back into your seat when you floor it. Since I live in MN I have an awd "beater" for the winter. Still has powertrain warranty remaining, and I'm not planning to void it anytime soon. Really do not need more power than this as you can't really use it on the street. The car has a 3LZ package (Nav + most of the interior is wrapped in leather). Definitely leagues beyond any car I've owned previous. At the dealership: My S2k had 416 whp - Comptech Supercharged running 12 psi. It was a fun car but in the end was not what I was looking for. Only had one mode, "bat straight outta hell". Could never just go on a normal cruise. My old 04 AP2 was much more enjoyful on a day to day basis but not quite as fun if that makes sense. My STi came to me with a bad motor. Buyer's insurance covered a new one, installed at RS Motors (really great shop). It had a MAPerformance EF2 turbo (similar size to 20G). It was fun but after everything I went through with it, I just wasn't attached AT ALL.
A friend's dad had to trade up from a base '09 Vette to nearly that exact same car. Had the privilege of riding in each, and you made an excellent trade in my opinion! I wouldn't be that attached to that body style STi either...
I'd call that a pretty reasonable trade when you have an A6 on tap for winter duty. New vettes are getting hard to criticize.
Let's not base things on what you can afford, but rather what you're willing to pay. I'm sure mr. Bay Lee could handle it.
Thanks lol, and I was referencing it from the movie. And I probably wouldn't be able to afford one... Yet
