tranny bolt size ??

do any of you know what year subaru started putting the t70 torx in the tranny drail plug? i know for sure an 05 has it but i'm not sure about the 04s.

I think the 03's were the transition year. Don't quote me on that, though.

I know that 02's are the 21mm bolt.

 

so you think for sure the 04s and maybe even the 03?

I'll say it again: I think 03 was the transition year. Some have the Torx, some have the 21mm.

This man is correct. The leggys and foresters changed in 03, than some wrx's in 04, and all cars in 05.

 

My '04 STi doesn't have the Torx.

No, they do not. One 21mm, and one 14mm. You should drain both.
