Okay, what could easily be the biggest movie of the season is coming out, and i know there are ton's of guys on here feeling nostalgic for the days of their childhood watching the autobots kick the crap out of the decepticons every saturday morning. What: Transformers The Movie Where: AMC Eden Prairie Mall 18 When: Tuesday, July 3rd @ 9:30 Cost: $7 (includes pre-order ticket fees) Link to Online Ticketing: CLICK HERE <---- ORDER TICKETS!!! Link to Map to Mall: GOOGLE MAP Pre-Movie Meet Spot: South Side mall entrance (same as potbelly) towards the end of the parking lot. It's Eden Prairie because they have the best facilities and parking around the theater entrance, not to mention multiple open-late food options right around the parking lot. Plus, this theater is very well kept and has some VERY large screens for a mall theater. And if your thinking about bitching about time/location, think of it this way: the next day is the 4th of july, most people won't have a lot of places to go the next morning. other activities may ensue after the movie
what have I started... ha ha ha... dang it I got a youth meeting till 8:30.. maybe I will do this but the wifey might not be happy....
Great idea,,, have been waiting for this one as well. But I will not be able to make with you all as I'll be at work. I might just take the family out to the drive-in and have a little BBQ and enjoy the movie. Enjoy!
Not for the original airing, but i was totally around for the re-runs. i had a bunch of the toys, and my best friend at the time was actually making money selling the rare ones. i remember a ton of them, Optimus, blur, starscream, soundwave, megatron, devistator, the dinobots (who were incredibly retarded. super advanced race of robots goes special ed because their dinosaurs? Fail.) the lame duck girl robot who's name escapes me... i actually wen't and downloaded the orignal transformers move a few months back and watched the whole thing again... there's just nothing to drive home the coolness of the transformers like optimus prime kicking Megatron's ass to Stan Bush's "The Touch" and for those of you who haven't seen it: The original "The Touch" music video: and the original clip from the movie: And the coolest part, last i heard the guy doing the voice of optimus in the original movie, is doing it in the new movie too.
Saw it last night too.... Great movie!!! TofuBoy, I found some info on that trailer..... http://www.slashfilm.com/2007/06/29...field-movie-trailer-attached-to-transformers/
THIS IS AN AWESOME MOVIE!!!! totally amazing, i want to go again asap!!!! really you need to go see this movie, it's going to be huge, like starwars...
Around for first showing of transformers, gi goe, voltron, etc. oh those were the weekends! Ill do my best to go, sounds like the time is perfect. (kids in bed by then)
Whenever you wanna stop by. i plan on being at the end of the parking lot around 815-830 to chill and maybe eat some arby's.
Ill plan on being there by 8:30 then. My buddy who just got his limited wrx is gonna come with his fiance by 9pm. He is waiting to get activated on the site still btw or he would of posted here.
Real decent! Lots of action, cool special effects. Out of five stars, I give it a four. Its pretty good about following the old story line, If you were ever into it. Probably wouldn't be as good to someone that never got into the cartoon. Probably somewhere around 8 or 9 subarus.:yumyumnot in the movie:roll Shane's car sounds crazy, heard him coming for sure!:hsugh:
just saw it...The CGi is awesome...I'd watch it again just to take a closer look...Plus saw it on DLP HD screen...w00t!
I liked it, but in the begining of the movie you go WOW they are uber, end of the movie they all seem pretty weak. Reminded me of the newest remake of godzilla. ya know what he did in the other movies, and when he (she wtf?) doesnt breath radiation the whole thing is a let down. I thought they were gonna make them like a robot, uber quick and accurate and just slaughter, but infantry just standing around shooting, umm ya, same robot that did so much damage in the first 5 minutes should of been far more powerful later too. oh, and to not shoot out spoilers, but the THING that was there after the 1st robot, and followed, wth was it doing? lol if movie was rater R that thing would of left the audiance with nightmares. still, liked it, recommend it for sure, I guess I am just a rated R type of guy, that would love to take his 4 year old son to a transformers movie but i think im gonna hold off on it cuz its too much for him, but to weak for me. another movie I hope this doesnt happen to will be wolverine. I sooo want wolverine to be R, but ya right... the last preview looked pretty interesting! gotta figure out what it is. its not named, a monster movie where the monster is being referred to as The Parasite, and what people calling the movie is Cloverfield but its not the real name since there is no name yet.
I thought it was great, I was impressed with how good the movie actually was. The action sequences were intense (it's Michael Bay, what do you expect?) and the transforming scenes were awesome. I'd go see it again in a heartbeat.
Is that like a romance explosion Tbone? lol No soundwave and no throwback transforming sound effects but still decent. Will see again but not before I pop in my 1987 vhs version...
yea...agree the movie was a bit long...especially at that guy's house looking for the glasses...turned a bit comedy which was wierd...
best movie i've seen so far this year....... did anybody stay past the credit, well like in the middle of it anyway.............in the finale shot of the movie after sam's parent finish talking to the reporter, u see starscream flying into space.......which will lead to a sequel. im guessing he's going for shockwave
^well yeah. Without giving away too many spoilers... Why wouldn't they make it into a trilogy? That's where the $ at
I think the next one will have a subaru in it call jackstandicons... its special power will be to transform into a car that drives....
 It's the Interweb even though I've met majority of the flamers/tool won't name any names...will just call him Nathan and he is auzzie...He his on my top ten hit & spanky list...
Jackstandicon lol... Nathan being a jackassicon Speaking of jackassicons, sequel better not have grimlock in it...
I hope they have a Subaru there next time around...would be nice to see what a subaru is really made of... or a FnF Riced out car...and call it "Joegangstacon" "daddysbiotchcon" "I'vegotsomethingtoprovecon" "Toolcon"
Lol I like ivegotsomethingtoproveicon... You see the wrx transformers toys? $5 from toysrus.com (marked down from ~20) but I think they sold out already...
I'd give it 4/5 stars. Good action, good effects, and decent writing. I would recommend sitting somewhere other than the second row, the action was very hard to follow being that close to the screen.
It's way WAY better than I thought it was going to be. The movie was actually great until about the last half-hour, when stupid screenwriting kinda took over. **SEMI-SPOILER WARNING (nothing too explicit)** My major complaints: 1. The house-sized cube that transforms... into... a cinderblock-sized cube (uhh, WHY??), which is... light enough to carry (uhh, physics anyone?). 2. The whole chase scene. "We'll protect you", the autobots tell the kid as he runs down the street carrying the cube. Duh, hey, why don't one of you giant armored robots just GRAB the cube yourself? Idiot screenwriters! 3. The ability for the robots to dynamically CHANGE what they transform into (after a two-second surface scan!) just makes the whole premise/mythos fall apart. So now if Optimus needs to fly, he can just scan a jet, and then he won't be a lumbering semi truck anymore?? Of course the minor complaints are how they pretty much ruined Megatron, and all of the CGI bots are grossly overarticulated to the point of being barely distinguishable from each other, and losing most of their personality. (And how are they gonna make TOYS out of THAT? You'd hurt yourself trying to pick one up!) And no, I don't think I'm being overanalytical; you could write a BOOK about the implausibilities in a movie like this, but most of them were overlookable. I can forgive the huge uninsulated bunker they kept "frozen", and the porch lights that stayed on during the blackout, for example, because-- well, storage freezers and complete darkness make for boring scenes. But #2 in my list just made me want to punch a lazy writer in the eye. All in all though, still well worth the price of admission. Enjoy the first 3/4ths of the movie (because it's great!!), but turn your brain completely off for the last half hour.
