With a built motor and larger Turbo? I don't think so. Maybe you should just sell yours to me now before you have to do the motor too.....
OK, hang on. In your title, you're asking for (specifically) an 06-07 5 or 6 Speed transmission. Speaking in stock terms, neither of those options are compatible with an 02 WRX. You will need an 02-04 WRX 5-Speed transmission to match your clutch, axles, and gearing that is OEM in your car. Do you know specifically what parts you need or are you just assuming that getting a newer transmission would be better?
i already swapped out the 02 transmission for 07 transmission and swapped the axles and the matching rear diff too but the 07 blew up on me the other day shifting from 1st to 2nd and now im trying to find a matching 07 or something better
last person i heard say that so rediculously was in a ferrari 355 and got smoked. same situation with the smoked though
Go 6 speed. It's easier, it's stronger, and cost less than doing RA gears on the still lazy 5 speed trans. 6 speed used to be expensive. I bought one back in 2003 for $4500(still using it ). Now they are around $2500.
1800$ for gears then just gotta pay RR fir the Guy to Do it at my work then throw a ACT 6 Puck sprung clutch in it. Or buy a 6-speed and drive line and put it in my car . But I only got 3g to do it all
Not to thread jack. But where can we get one for 2500? I have seen them for 3500. Also the non dccd will drop right in on the o7 as long as it is an o7 wrx? Going through the same thing quizno73, shredded 3rd gear.
Okay well if you got any extra parts let me know Because im thinking about picking this 05 Sti tranny this weekend.
anybody/everybody Just wanted to know a parts list of what all i need if i buy this 05 6-speed transmission> please
nuke was telling me about if i changed the gears out in the rear diff i wouldn't need to switch the axles&hubs, correct me if I'm wrong
It depends on whether you're running an R160 or an R180. If you use an R160 with 3.90 gearing, you'll be fine. If you try to upgrade to the R180, you'll need to come up with an axle/hub solution.
yeah that's the plan use my R160 and switch 3.90 gear into it from some diff that i can find at the junkyard
what year imprezza should i be looking for ? this transmission I'm looking at he's selling the drive shaft with it.
If it's the STI driveshaft you can make it work, but you'll need to drill holes in the diff flange to accept it. Any 5-speed auto shaft would bolt to an R160 and be the right length with a 6-speed instead.
