Ok, How do I know if my Transmission is gone. I believe it is, but some pointers would be nice. I can turn my car on, if I let off the clutch it dies. I also cannot shift into anygears. The car was very low on Transmission fluid before all this happened.

Next question: About how much would a new transmission cost? What are good deal on prices and what would be a normal price? Where should I look to find one?

Should I look for an upgraded one or just get a standard one?

I have an 5 speed MT '02 WRX with modified engine.

My dad found a $1700 transmission from out of State that I think is just a stock Trannie.

    Thanks all!

95% of the time parts will total less then a whole new tranny aslong as the housing is not cracked. Find some one who is familiar with it/IE has done one before and have them look at it. Trannys are easy to do, manuals are easy to spot bad parts . wrxboy2003 recommends "Bikerboy" I say PM him
