I just got a call from my dad, who said that the transmission on his car went out this morning, and he wante to see if I knew of any shops to suggest. He drives a PT Cruiser (snicker snicker). I think he's getting numbers in the $3,000 right now for a rebuilt tranny and labor.

Any suggestions would be GREATLY appreciated.

That sounds pretty steep. Automatic, I assume?

Might want to talk to Scott P, he's a lot more in tune with Chrysler stuff.

Thanks for the tip. I just found out that a co-worker's brother owns a shop in Belle Plaine and will do the labor for 300-350, and can get it rebuilt for 1300-1500 or so. So I think that is what they're doing.
